Nova entered one of the offices where she found a bruised up Tony and a tired Nat speaking to Secretary Ross.

"What happens when the shooting starts? What, do you kill Steve Rogers?" Nat asked.

"If we're provoked." he said.

Nova frowned and intervened, "Wait, you're gonna consider killing Captain America?"

"If worst comes to worse. Look at him, running around like a rogue vigilante!" he said disgusted.

"It won't come to that." she declared in certainty.

"All due respect, you're not going to solve this with boys in bullets, Ross. You gotta let us bring them in." Tony said.

"How would that end any differently from the last time?" Ross asked.

"Because this time, I won't be wearing loafers and a silk shirt." Tony asserted, "72 hours, guaranteed." he tried to negotiate.

"36 hours." Ross demanded.

"Thank you, sir." Tony slumped back into his chair, rubbing his chest. "My left arm is numb, is that normal?"

Nova put her hand on his shoulder, he looked up at her giving a faded smile, "Dad, you can't let them kill Steve, or anyone." she tried.

"I'm trying my best here." he said softly.

"I know." she whispered.

"We're seriously understaffed." Tony added.

"I have an idea." Nat said, intriguing Nova and Tony.

"Me too. Where's yours?" he asked.

"Downstairs, where's yours?" she asked curiously.

Tony didn't reply but smirked slightly. He got up, "Come on, Nova!" he walked out the office, Nova obliviously followed.

"Uh, where are we going?" she asked.

"Queens."

-

They sat on a jet to Queens. Tony was in the middle of showing Nova videos of a certain Spider-boy vigilante that had shown up in Queens in recent times.

"Woah." she whispered as she carefully watched the boy lift and throw a truck using some sort of web that he shot out of his arms. "How's he doing that?"

"No idea. That's why we're going to Queens." he said, turning off the video.

"He's from Queens?" she asked, surprised.

"Yeah, maybe you know him." he said.

"Yeah dad, lived there a few years and now I know the whole population." she remarked.

Tony tapped his phone to project the ID of the spider boy. Nova looked at it carefully. "He's a kid!" she read the name, "Hm, he does look and sound familiar." she turned to look at Tony, "He's a kid, isn't that a bit irresponsible of us?"

"Yes it is. It was also irresponsible when I let you become an avenger at the age of 21." he shot back. Nova rolled her eyes in response.

-

They arrived at the small apartment complex and rang the doorbell, a woman in her 40s opened it, she was all too familiar. It came back to Nova.

"Hey! I know you!" Nova exclaimed. Tony looked at her confused.

"Oh Nova! How have you been?" May said as she hugged her.

"I've been good, how have you been?" Nova asked, she looked over to Tony who looked confused, "Oh I know her, I met her briefly on the street a couple years back when I was uh-" she paused, "When I uh- I was sort of—" Tony and May looked at her waiting for her to speak actual words, "Having a panic attack." she blurted out quickly.
