Later in the evening, Nova sat on the lawn with Nat, their backs against the wall of the facility. The sun had set, the rain had halted, but the field was still wet, and the smell of rain was constant. Nova was filling in Nat about flying into the skies with Vision. "And then, I had gone too far up, I was above the rain cloud!" Nova narrated enthusiastically.

Nat smiled with her mouth open, "Oh, I'd kill to be above a rain cloud!" she exclaimed.

"Vision's great." Nova said, Nat nodded. "You know, he reminds me a lot of Bruce." The mention of Bruce's name, made the smile on Nat's face fade a bit. "They both have that thing where they can't tell if I'm joking or not."

Nat let out a solemn chuckle. "Yeah," she murmured.

"So, he's still MIA, huh?" Nova inquired.

"No sign of him." Nat said shaking her head and looking down at her thighs.

"I miss him." Nova said.

"Me too, kid."

"What if he's in trouble?" Nova wondered.

"Come on, he'll be fine, he's the hulk." She remarked. "Plus, there's nothing we can do about it. Best to let it go."

Nova nodded and looked around the field. Suddenly she heard a cat meowing. She turned to give Natasha a confused look. The meowing persisted. Nova shuffled around and found a small black and white kitten hidden behind a plant. She reached out and held the kitten, Natasha watched, her eyebrows furrowed.

"Oh my god!" Nova said in awe, "Look how cute it is!"

Natasha smiled slightly, "It's probably hiding from the rain."

"Poor guy, he's in the middle of nowhere..." Nova looked up at Nat, giving her a very distinct look.

Natasha caught the look and her smile completely faded, she glared at Nova. "Absolutely not!" she said firmly.

"Come on! It's gonna die out here alone!" Nova persisted.

"Well kid, you're an avenger, you're gonna have to learn to deal with causalities." Nat said, getting up.

"Come on!" Nova insisted.

"No way! Plus, Steve won't let you keep it."

Nova stared at Nat blankly as if she said the dumbest thing ever, "Oh please! It's Steve!"

Nat hesitated. "Ugh Fine." she rolled her eyes, "What are you gonna name it?"

"Hmm, let me think." Nova pondered. "Cat Nat."

"What?"

"Cat Nat." Nova repeated. "It rhymes."

"But I'm Nat."

"Yes, and this is Cat Nat, cause it rhymes, and cause you're right in-front of me right now and it's the only thing I could think of."

"No! we are not naming it Cat Nat, think of something else."

The pair sat on Nova's bed, playing with the kitten. Suddenly the door opened, Nat and Nova were startled. Wanda walked in, "Hey, do you have— Is that a cat?" Wanda said, taken aback.

"Uh huh. I found it lost in the rain all alone so I decided to keep it." Nova informed. Wanda's face lit up and she sat next to Nova on the bed playing with the cat, who had been enjoying the attention.

Suddenly the door bursted open, all three of them darted their widened eye's at the door, but it was just Sam, "NOVA, DID YOU EAT MY DAMN NUTELLA?" Sam paused to look at Cat Nat, "What the hell is that?" He walked closer.

"Great, now everyone knows except Steve." Nat complained.

"No, um, Vision doesn't know!" Nova fought back.

"Vision!" Sam called out. Vision dissolved through the wall and walked into the room.

"Yes?" Vision's gaze averted towards the cat, "I see there's a new addition to the avengers?"

Nova and Nat glared at Sam, who was thoroughly entertained.

The sound of the doorknob creaking open was heard, they all looked at each other alarmed, "We're all here, so that must be—" Nova was cut off, Steve entered the room, they all huddled around the cat, awkwardly smiling at Steve.

"There you all are, I was looking for you." Steve furrowed his eyebrows noticing the obvious tension. "What's going on?" he asked.

"Uh—Nothing. What makes you think there's something going on?" Nova stuttered through an rather creepy expression, where her lips were curled up in a smile but her eyes told a different story.

"Alright, what did you do?" Steve folded his arms.

"Nothing—" Nova was cut off by the meowing of the cat. Everyone widened their eyes.

Steve raised his eyebrows, "Nova. Do you have a cat in here?" he questioned firmly.

"Uhm— no I don't," Nova looked around the room, settling her gaze on vision, "That was vision!" Vision looked at her perplexed, his mouth slightly gaped, "We still don't know the extent of his abilities!" she spoke quickly.

"Nova, come on." Steve said.

"No really it was—" Suddenly the Cat jumped off the bed and ran towards Steve. He looked down at the Cat, and then back up at Nova. Who gave him a guilty look back. Their cover was blown.

"A room full of people with extraordinary abilities, and you failed to hide a cat." Steve chuckled. He bent down and gave the cat a pat on the head. "It's fine, as long as it doesn't cause a problem."Everyone sighed in relief.

"We still need to name it," Natasha said.

"Oh, I've got a name, Captain Whiskers." Sam said chuckling. Steve looked up at him smiling. Nova glared at him.

"That sucks, Sam." Nova said.

"It's better than Cat Nat." Natasha mumbled.

"Cat Nat's nice." Steve said teasingly.

"No!" Natasha commanded.

"Um, may I suggest one?" Vision said, they all turned to look at him, "Well, since you did find him in the rain, Rain itself could be a good name."

Nova smiled, and looked at the cat. "Hmm, rain...It's perfect."
