"Ugh!" Nova exclaimed in a miserable tone. "I'm so bored!" It was a dreary and uneventful evening at the avengers compound. Nova laid on the one seater couch with her head hanging off the edge. The rest of the avengers had opted to seeing whatever was on TV. It was quiet, and there was a tension in the air, everyone seemed to be bored, no matter how good they were at hiding it.
"Suck it up, Adler. There's not much to do around here." Nat said in a monotoned voice.
"Days like these are bound to come around. We'll just have to learn to deal with them." Steve said.
Nova rolled her eyes, then she got an idea and jumped off the couch. "Lets go clubbing or something!" she suggested enthusiastically.
"I'm down." Sam said.
"Me too, I could use a night out." Wanda chimed in.
"It doesn't seem like a really bad idea. Steve?" Nat asked looking at Steve.
Steve was hesitant, "I mean—"
"Oh come on! We're all tired we could use a bit of 'normal'." Nova insisted.
Steve hesitated, he looked at everyone's hopeful faces waiting for his decision. "Alright, fine." he smiled.

The avengers sat jam packed together in the backseat of the car, they could have taken two cars but Steve insisted it would be unnecessary since they could all fit in one. Well they couldn't. Steve was the designated driver since he couldn't get drunk. Nat sat in the passenger seat. Nova, Wanda, Sam and Vision sat in the backseat with barely any space to move.
"Steve I could have flown, it would have saved us from a great deal of discomfort." Vision said.
"No, flying all the way into the city would have been exhausting." Steve argued.
Vision chuckled, "Steve I don't get exhausted."
Nova stuck her head out into the front of the car. "Can't you drive a little faster?" she requested.
"I'm driving at the speed limit, Nova." Steve said.
"Yeah, I know but, I think by the time we'll get there at this speed, you'll age another 75 years." She joked. Nat let out a stifled laugh. Steve looked at Nova from the corner of his eye, trying not to smile at her joke.

After a long while, they arrived at the club, as they got out of the car, Steve gave them a set of instructions, "Alright, remember, don't go wandering off, stay together, and Wanda, you're not allowed to drink." He instructed.
"Wait what?" Wanda said.
"You're under 21." He explained.
"Oh come on, Steve. 18 is the legal drinking age in the UK." Nova said. "Let her have fun!"
"We're not in the UK, we're in America." Steve said.
"Yeah and he is sort of an expert on America." Sam joked.
When they entered the club, everyone headed towards the bar. Nat, Sam and Nova did shots. Wanda and Vision headed to the corner of the bar, sitting at a table talking, there was something going on between them. Steve just sat on a barstool watching everyone contently.
Later, Nova came and sat next to him. "Hey," she said.
"Hey,"
"So I take it you're not very big on clubs." She joked.
Steve chuckled, "Not the clubbing type, no." he said. "By the way, I called your dad."
"Oh, wow. Clubbing with my father, that sounds..." she wondered what to say next.
"I'm sorry, is that bad? I just thought—" He regretted.
"What no! no no no. I'm kidding." she giggled, "I'd love to see him, and plus, this seems like his kind of scene." she said.
Just then the bartender slid a drink towards Nova. She looked at him confused, "Oh I didn't order this." she said.
"I know. It's on the house." He said as he flashed her a smile and went back to his work. She looked down at the napkin he passed with the drink. It had a number on it. She was flushed. She looked at Steve, giving him an embarrassed expression. He let out a loud laugh.
"You should call him!" he said excitedly.
Nova's eyebrows furrowed, "What?" she asked. Why would Steve want that?
"I said you should call him! He seems nice." He said.
"Uh— right, um, you really think so?" She asked, testing him.
"Yeah," Steve said.
Nova was confused. Did Steve not like her anymore. I mean she didn't wait for him to sit around and wait for her, but she didn't expect him to think that if she was ready to be with anyone, it wouldn't be him and him only.
Nova looked down at the drink, letting out a small scoffed chuckle, "Why would I call him?" she asked.
Nova got up from the barstool, grabbing her bag, "I'm gonna go, find—Wanda." she began to walk away.
"Hey—hey," Steve held Nova's arm, stopping her. "Did I say something wrong? I'm sorry." Steve asked obliviously.
"No you didn't. I just, uh, I need to use the restroom." She said, walking away immediately.
She felt overwhelmed. Steve didn't owe her anything, and she knew that, but why did she have a growing pit in her stomach. She knew there was one thing that could possibly fix it. And good thing the place she was at, had copious amounts of it.
Nova grabbed two glasses of drinks from a waiter's tray. Chugging them down. After a few moments she was completely wasted. She held a shot and headed over to Wanda and Vision's table. She handed it to Wanda, "Drink up, kid." Nova said.
Wanda looked down at the shot glass hesitantly, "Steve said no." she said.
"I'm sure he won't notice, it's just one drink." Nova insisted.
Wanda smiled widely and took the shot. "No one's gonna notice." she repeated.
