"So, why didn't you tell me your birthday is on the same day as our anniversary?", my face fell. I think if it was possible, I could see the stick of gum that was stuck onto the sole of my shoe. I slowly turned around, dreading the confrontation.
"Whaaaat, that's crazy!", I tried to play the oblivious card. Which I now realize sounds so stupid. In what universe would I not know that?
"Don't play dumb now, explain yourself", Leah got all lawyer on me.
"So I know you are studying to become an accountant, but you don't need to pull all your tricks on me okay?", I still danced around the bush. I'm curious of how much time I could win myself here.
"Explain. Now.", she was serious, damn.
"The question is, how do you know that?", I playfully got up in her face now.
"Did you really forget you have a twin? The whole concept of that is that you are born on the same day, right?", Leah rethorically asked me. Damn it Lisa, do you have to ruin everything? Okay no that's not fair, I'm just an idiot.
"Look, I never said anything about my birthday because I don't like to celebrate it. Especially now it collides with a much more important thing. Something that is worth celebrating", I snuck my arms around her waist.
"Alright... but you could have told me", Leah frowned. Or not, you know...
"Let's just go back to the pack, why don't we? They're probably all wondering what we are doing here, alone you know. I don't want our whole family to think we made out with them being present", I shivered at the thought of that. Yikes.
"But that means...", Leah was wondering
"What?", I asked confused.
"This", and she leaned in. Of course, she would seize any opportunity to wholeheartly abuse me at her disposal. Just kidding, I love to kiss her. What am I even saying, get of my back!
"Now that we actually made out with them all being just in the other room, why don't we go join them and lie in there faces?", Leah sighed content. She can always turn a bad day into the best ever lived.
"Let's go", I turned around, and just when I wanted to open the kitchen door, I felt a hand on my ass. And then a sting. She did not just slap me?!
"You did not", I wore a shocked expression on my face, but I didn't have time to return the favour because she nonchalantly opened the door. I will so getting her back for that, damn this stings. Son of a bitch.
"There they are! We were already wondering what you two were doing there all by your-", Lisa yelled through the whole room. Why is everybody ganging up on us?
"Yes, Lies, we're here! Zwijg alsjeblieft gewoon", I smiled in her face. I always use my Dutch when I just want to shut someone up. I thought nobody here knows what I just said, but it wouldn't be like my brothers to stay quiet now, would it? Of course, they are also half Belgian.
"Lisa, she just said 'can you just shut up please' in Dutch", Felix was the first one to snitch.
"I would never say that, Feels als je me nog eens verklikt dan zweer ik je-", I began to threaten him in front of everyone.
"Now she is threatening Felix while saying 'if you ever snitch me again, I swear' also in Dutch by the way", Noah spoke up this time, why is their Dutch so good? I was the only one to be actually interested in the language, or any language for that matter.
"You two are the worst", I just switched to English again defeated. I went to my previous spot, Leah had already sat down. I took my place between mom and Tobin again and Tobin was laughing at me.
