- Third Person POV -

"Wait! Not the face!"

BONK!

Mingyu fell to the ground. "Ugh..."

"Pssh. Don't be so dramatic, it barely hit you." Jeonghan reached out his hand.

"Is this... A change of heart?" Mingyu was about to hold Jeonghan's hand.

"No, I want my shoe back." Jeonghan slapped his hand away.

"Ah, of course, that makes more sense."

"Hurry and pick yourself up, I wanna see the shelter." Jeonghan turned around walking.

"Oh. Someone's fired up." Mingyu dusted himself off after handing Jeonghan his shoe.

"I've heard of the place. But like most things in my life, I made plans to go but never got around to actually going it." Jeonghan slipped on his shoe. "How about you? Do you actually have business there? Or was it the first thing you came up with given the fact that I'm a vet?"

"A little of that, but I also realized that no one could ever be mean in front of cute puppies! Perfect place to make up!" Mingyu smiled.

"Darn it! That's cheating!"

"Hahaha! Kidding! I honestly just really miss my babies at home." Mingyu showed a picture of his three dogs to Jeonghan.

"What?"

"Three of them! My mom is babysitting them for me while I'm gone."

"Oh! Dobermans!" Jeonghan recognized the species of dog. "Wait, were you the one who got their ears cropped? Because I'm totally judging you if that's the case."

"I would never! They're actually rescues and were already like that when I adopted them." Mingyu walked. "That's why I also wanted to go here, in hopes that visiting a shelter would make me feel a little less homesick... Maybe I could find something to do during my stay instead of just bothering people. It's probably just me But I kinda feel unwelcomed here right now so it's been a little lonely."

"A-Are you saying this because of me..." Jeonghan mumbled.

"Hm? What did you say?"

"Nothing let's go." Jeonghan strode past Mingyu.

"Ah! Okay!"

"Your dogs are cute by the way."

"Awww! I'll tell them that!"

They reached the small shelter that was decorated with flowers outside.

"It's cute! I was expecting it to be a bit bigger though." Jeonghan commented.

"From what I remember it's privately owned so maybe that's why." Mingyu shrugged walking to the door.

"What's that on the door?" Jeonghan pointed at the at the Notice stuck to the door.

"Says here they won't be able to take any more rescues."

"Oh yeah, that's sorta how Chow ended up with me!" Jeonghan exclaimed.

"Eh? Then what's the point of being a shelter?"

"It's because we'll be closing our doors soon." A woman walked out from behind the shelter. "Because of certain circumstances, we'll have to shut down the shelter. Sorry, but we'll only cater to people interested in adopting our remaining rescues."
