- Third Person POV -

"F*CK!" They yelled looking at each other.

"Oh no..." Jihoon mumbled.

"I could've sworn he was with us last night though..." Soonyoung bit his lip.

"I kinda remember it too..."

"Still... I wasn't even able to say goodbye."

"But wasn't that the plan? No drama?"

"Yeah, but I didn't think it would hurt this much. ...It would've hurt to have a proper ending."

"Will it make it hurt less? A proper goodbye?" Jihoon kept a hand on Soonyoung's shoulder.

"Hm? I guess."

"Alright then. We still have some time before boarding. Come on, I think we'll make it considering how fast you drive." Jihoon stood up giving Soonyoung a hand.

"Huh? Are we really doing it?!" Soonyoung took Jihoon's hand.

"Your sulking face is too hard to resist!"

"We're really going to give him an airport chase?!"

"Eugh, he's totally into that shit."

"Haha! It's gonna go straight to his ego!"

Soonyoung and Jihoon ran downstairs.

"Let's hurry!" Soonyoung yelled.

"No crying if we don't make it, okay?" Jihoon patted his back.

"Uhmm... Where are you guys going?" Mingyu was standing in the kitchen holding a ladle upside down with a dog apron on.

"MINGYU!" Soonyoung and Jihoon's eyes were about to pop out as they looked behind them.

"Why don't you both have breakfast first? There's soup which is great for hangovers!" Mingyu smiled.

"What are you still doing here?!" Soonyoung asked offended.

"How about your flight?!" Jihoon was in disbelief.

"We were just about to chase after you!" Soonyoung was still offended.

"Oh! Like in the dramas? Man, that would've been cool~" Mingyu smirked.

"Answer our question!"

"I canceled my original flight and booked a new one for later tonight. So I don't have to leave until evening."

"Oh right, you have money." Soonyoung ticked his tongue.

"Damn these rich people." Jihoon folded his arms.

"Well, if it means I could spend a little more time with you guys then it's worth it. You were so drunk last night so it doesn't count! Haha! It just doesn't feel right to leave without spending a little more time with you both. Y-Your two of my most precious friends after all... ...just a few more hours will be enough for me." Mingyu looked down.

"Look at us Mingyu," Jihoon said firmly.

"Huh?"

"Say it again but look at us."

"Jihoon..." Soonyoung mumbled.

"I've known you for years Mingyu, don't you think I know when you're holding things back? This was the same tone you used when we broke up over the phone. You've been like this ever since it's like you're always walking on eggshells. Like there's always more to be said but nothing ever comes out." Jihoon began tearing up.

"B-But then last night... You looked at me... You looked at me the same way you did back then... with so much love. I hate it because I still love you too... ...And the confusion came rushing back. How can we still look at each other like that and yet have everything fall apart? You could've at least given me a reason. It would've made things easier... But it's fine, I'm not gonna beg for it now. I'll find a way to get better somehow..." Jihoon watched Mingyu step back.

"But you know what hurts the most? It's how you're still going it after all these years." Jihoon stepped forward crying as Mingyu fell back onto a chair letting go of the ladle. "If you truly care like you say you do. Then stop leaving people in the dark."

"Are you okay?" Soonyoung stepped forward and ferried a hand over Jihoon's back.

"Soonyoung..." Jihoon looked up at Soonyoung and then at Mingyu. "I hope you didn't do the same to Soonyoung—"

"Hey, that's enough." Soonyoung tried to stop Jihoon. "And no. It doesn't apply to me, Jihoon. Don't worry."

Jihoon wiped his tears away sighing.

Soonyoung smiled looking at Mingyu as he stepped forward towering over him. "But he has a point. Mingyu, you told me back then that you're scared of making any more promises and hurting people in the process. Sometimes they don't need promises, all they need is someone they can trust and that person to trust them back. It has to work both ways, always..."

"Be honest and communicate. It's the kindest thing you can do not just for others but also for yourself. If you start from there, I'm sure you can work it out. I'll be rooting for you." Soonyoung hugged Mingyu backing away. "Have a safe flight, okay?"

"Be safe, take care." Jihoon patted Mingyu's back.

Jihoon and Sooyoung turned around to leave.

Mingyu gulped. His heart pounded and his lips trembled as he reached his hand out.

"WAIT!" Mingyu yelled.
