"What's wrong with you?" I stood by the door and stared at her. "I believe this is my office!"

"I know!" Gina said, slowly lowering her heels. She stood up and faced me, still in that haughty posture.

"What do you want to do in my office?" I asked, leaning against the doorframe.

Gina didn't speak. She was walking on the carpet in her red heels. Her eyes looked curiously at the filing cabinet next to her desk. Then she wiped the dust off the filing cabinet with her fingers.

"See, you're like this dust!" She pointed her dusty index finger at me. "You're redundant to this office, to Ron!"

I looked at her expressionlessly, wondering what she would say next. Is this where she's gonna blow the lid off a secret she's been keeping for a long time? Will she?

"I think you'd better go home and be a housewife. You don't know anything!" Her mouth began to fire like a machine gun. She always speaks in an aggressive manner.

"I don't know why you're suddenly involved in this case, but I can tell you very clearly that if you insist on being involved in it, I will find a way to kick you out!" Gina's eyes were sharp, her red lips closed and parted. "You lose to me every time, and you know it!"

"What would you do if I didn't agree to quit?" I stood up straight and looked at her, "What you do best is cry to our father and make up a lie to make him think you're a victim, right? You think I don't know anything and you're good at business? If I remember correctly, you only studied at the modeling academy for two years. You're a failure as a model. You haven't even been to a formal business event. I remember that you failed in the international modeling competition before our father sent you to my husband's company to study! Our father thought you were a failure, and that's why he sent you here. Do you really think you have the right to stand here and scream on behalf of our father's company? Gina, you're the one who should be out!"

"Shut up, Eva!" Gina blushed. She hated it when people mentioned her failure in the modeling contest. It was a disgrace to her. She tripped and fell on her high heels because she made a mistake during a live match. All the cameras caught her in a funny, embarrassing way, and she was afraid to go out for a long time after the game.

"Gina, what can you do but make noise?" I sneered. "You dress like a p.rostitute in the office. This is a company, not a b.rothel."

"You bloody housewife!" Gina glared at me, "You only deserve to stay at home and cook. As a wife, you don't even have any children. You never dress up and you don't know how to please men. No one will like you, including your husband!"

The air froze. Gina and I looked into each other's eyes. If Gina continues to make a scene, she will draw attention to others. She's good at planning dirty tricks, but this time, has she figured out a way to frame me?

My hunch was about to come true when Gina walked up to me, stroking her flat belly with one hand and smiling triumphantly. She knew she was going to win.

"I'm pregnant!" Gina said, shaking her red hair from her shoulders. "Don't you want to know who the father is?"

I froze. I always thought that the disaster that happened on my wedding anniversary in my previous life would happen in this one. I tried all ways to avoid them. I thought I had time to prepare before that. But even before my walls were up, the disaster struck.

Now!

Gina couldn't wait to show off her secret. She looked confident. What was going on in those eerie twinkling eyes of hers?

I had to get to her before she got to me. I couldn't go back to that cold, dirty prison. I can't!

"You know that man, too, and you know him very well," Gina said as she pressed on, forcing me to step back to the French window directly across from my desk.

If I remember correctly, the windows of all the offices in this building are translucent. One can see everything from the inside, but from the outside the glass is just a blur. For this reason, even if Gina had done something to me in this room, no one could see it, let alone prove it.

I have only a little time to think of a solution. I had to protect myself before she made her next move. I peeked around the corner of the office. There were no security cameras. It's not good for me.

"Gina, now I know why you like to take things from me. Ever since I was a little girl, you've always taken whatever I had," I said, with a deliberate pause. I saw Gina stop and stare at me with her arms folded.

"You want to prove that you are our father's favorite daughter. You want to prove that you are better than me, you want to take everything away from me. You hate me and are jealous of me! Because you are an illegitimate daughter, right?" I said viciously, "Your mother has been nothing but a lowly mistress until now. She cannot bear the name of the Green family because everyone in the family knows that you are not worthy of it!"

"I said shut up!" Gina shrieked. "I'll tell father. I'll make him punish you!"

I looked out the window at a woman who had stopped. In the corridor there were a few staff members passing by, and a woman cleaning vases.

Good. I think I know what I have to do.

I took two steps forward and grabbed Gina's arm when she wasn't looking. I gritted my teeth and slammed our bodies into the floor-to-ceiling glass as fast as I could.

I could hear the sound of broken glass, and I was sure I was moving fast enough that no one in the hallway could see who was leading the fall.

Now I just close my eyes and lie still on the ground until the paramedics arrive. I heard Gina screaming, cursing. I bet she can't wait to get up from the broken glass.

Sure enough, she kicked me with her high-heeled feet, but soon she was stopped by someone else. I was still lying on the ground pretending to be dead, and now everyone saw her kick me, and I was the victim, and she was the perpetrator.

This time, I won, temporarily.

The paramedics loaded me into the ambulance, and I didn't see Ron from the time I left the office to the hospital. In the hospital, the nurse injected me with a liquid to make me sleep. After the break, I opened my eyes slightly.

In addition to the electronic sound of the instrument, I also vaguely saw a silver light in the flashing. A knife was swinging before my eyes.
