Liv asked me to meet her at her apartment. But she warned me on the phone that Ron had secretly paid off a hit man to find me. To avoid being noticed, I bought a pizza on the way to Liv's and gave the clerk an extra $10 to buy a red hat with the words Nana Pizza on it.

I kept my hat low on purpose. When I met the security guard at the apartment, I pretended to be a delivery girl. The fat man was busy checking Twitter on his phone, and he motioned for me to check in on the guest list in the register.

I scribbled a fake name and the fat man let me in without looking. Maybe Liv had already said hello to him, or maybe he was used to a laid-back working attitude, but I was sure he hadn't seen my face. I keep my head down when I'm in a position where there are cameras.

I found Liv's apartment number and knocked three times. Then the door opened, and I saw Liv, with her delicate makeup on her face, in the doorway. She quickly took the pizza from my hand and let me in.

"Oh, my God! Eva, it's a miracle to see you!" Liv walked over to the kitchen table and handed me a glass of cold lemonade. "I was so worried when I found out you were missing that I couldn't sleep at night!"

"Liv, I need your help!" I put the lemonade on the table and didn't drink it. "But first, you have to tell me everything you know!"

"Ron put a statement on TV and in the newspapers about your debt. He blamed you for the failure to buy the gas company, and all the other bad debts of the company. Ron is such a jerk. He blamed you for everything."

Liv held her breath, not daring to say a specific number, "I hear he's got the best lawyer on the case. In a word, he put all the arrears in your name. He claims you disappeared to avoid debt, but he paid off an assassin to kill you! And now he's marrying your sister! God d.amn it! I think this is the most shameless man I've ever met!

"Can I have a cigarette?" With Liv's permission, I picked up the half-packed Marlboros on the table. It might have been left by a man who spent the night there. Whatever! Smoking helps me to think calmly.

"Ron, how much did he say I owed?" I asked with a puff of white smoke.

Liv looked at me as if the number was stuck in her throat like a giant hot dog. Then she took my cigarette from my hand and took a sharp puff before she said.

"A billion dollars!" Liv said with a look of disbelief on her face. "He's going to kill you!"

That's enough for the police to arrest me in plain sight. Ron may have cut a deal with the police department in private. As long as they get me, they'll get a reward, maybe more for finding my body. Anyway, I can't fly now. I can't stay in a hotel, and there are countless assassins lurking in the shadows waiting for me.

I'm a street rat now!

"What's the plan, Eva?" Liv's voice was muffled. Now a great web is waiting for me. I can't get away with this. I'm sure Liv knows that, too.

"I'm going back tonight to die with them!" I had no choice. For a person who has died once, it is not terrible to die again.

"Are you crazy?" Liv put out her cigarette immediately, "You can hide in my house for a few days, and I'll find a smuggler to smuggle you into Brazil. You don't have to fight them. There'll be plenty of bodyguards at the engagement party tonight, and even if you get in, you won't have a chance to get close to Ron."

"I've made up my mind!" I gulped down the glass of iced Lemonade. "If you still think of me as your friend, then please help me one last time and give me your invitation card!"

The invitation card was the only way I could get into the house, and I knew Liv wouldn't say no.

Liv looked at me. "I think of you as my best friend," she said. "I can't say no when a friend comes to me in trouble. But I think I can give you more than an invitation."

"One invitation is enough for me!" I unzipped my coat to reveal the pistol at my waist. "And I have this!"

"No, it's not enough!" Liv said, "For a soldier who is about to go into battle alone, a pistol is useless. At the very least, you should prepare more ammunition and weapons. After all, the opponents you have met are not good people! Follow me! I have something good for you!"

Liv led me to her bedroom, where she opened the closet and pushed away the clothes hanging on the hanger. The deepest part of the closet reveals a wall-mounted safe.

"This is the safe that Jeff used to hide his weapons in. I haven't opened it since he died, but I know there are a lot of weapons in it," she said as she typed in the code with her finger.

The safe opened automatically. I saw many weapons inside; two sniper rifles, three automatic pistols, and a dagger that could be carried at any time. The magazines are placed next to each gun.

I picked out a pistol with a silencer. I also have the short pistol that Mark gave me earlier. That's enough. As I reached in to get the magazine, I seemed to hit a hard box.

So I pulled the hard thing out, and Liv stood next to me and asked.

"What's this? It looks like a hard drive!"

"Yes, it's a hard drive!" I held the black hard drive in my hand. So heavy. There must be a lot of things here.

"Open it and see what's inside!" Liv winked at me. I knew what she meant.

So we went back to the living room. Liv took out her laptop and connected it to the hard drive. I stood behind her and saw the screen saying she needed to enter the password. Liv tried several passwords and failed.

"Try Jeff's mother's birthday!" I reminded her. I remembered that Jeff was very filial to his mother because she had done so much for him. Even if he's not a good husband.

Liv thought for a moment, then typed in Jeff's mother's birthday on her computer. The hard disk immediately opened, with only two folders in it. I asked Liv to open the first folder, which had sub-folders full of dirty business dealings with Ron's company.

Ron never put me in touch with his gray business. But I just found out today that Ron wasn't just involved in drugs and p.rostitution, he was even involved in arms trafficking. And my father's company was involved.

In recent years, when the new leadership took office, the domestic gray business was suppressed, which was why Ron wanted to buy the natural gas company as a legitimate business. After all, gray business was not only dangerous but also unsustainable.

"What's in the other folder?" Liv said, opening the second folder.

"It's a video!" I said. "Open any one of them!"

Liv opens a video called "Hot," and it shows a man and a woman having s.ex. The man is definitely Jeff, and the woman groans under him. The red hair fell on the pillow. Liv almost screamed when she showed her face.

"F.uck, it's her!"
