The auction reached its climax. The host showed a ruby ring weighing 20 carats. It starts at $2 million. Daley, who had been silent all this time, suddenly raised his card to bid, and I looked at him in bewilderment. But instead of giving me any explanation, he just focused on the bidding.

Daley bought the ring for $4.5 million. This is the highest bid in the auction tonight. All eyes were on him at once. When the staff came to Daley with the box containing the ring, Daley put the ring on my finger and the Ruby glowed like blood in the light.

Daley smiled at me and said, "This is for you."

I was so surprised that he kissed me on the cheek. Around me came the envious chatter of the guests. But he didn't care.

When this heavy ring is on my hand, I feel it's like a shackle on me. Does this mean I'll never be free of the hunter?

After the auction, the guests moved to another hall for the ball. Media reporters are not allowed to attend the ball because the final activity is exclusive to the rich. Celebrities and politicians meet each other and exchange confidential information about the industry.

Gina swayed to every man's side. Even though many men are attracted to her, she never stays with any man for more than 3 minutes. And the man she once loved is now dancing on the dance floor with a beautiful snake on his arm.

"May I have this dance?" Daley stood in front of me, bending over in a gentlemanly manner, and I reached my hand over. He took me by the hand and led me to the dance floor.

"Have you found your prey?" He leaned behind me, his warm lips pressed against my earlobe. "Cat or wolf?"

"I was just observing," I said, glancing at Ron and his partner as they danced in the distance. I have to hide and watch before I catch my prey.

"Maybe we can catch a wolf and see what's in his belly," Daley said with a sneer.

"How about the snake?" I asked. "Be careful of the snake bite. I think she's on to you."

I watched as Sarah, who was dancing, shifted her gaze to Daley. Her shocked eyes quickly turned to hate. That makes me curious. Is there something going on between her and Daley?

After one dance, Daley and I sat down on the sofa in the corner. Then a beautiful snake came to us, twisting her body. Sarah glanced at me and Daley with disdain, then she sat down on the couch, picked up the glass in front of Daley, and took a sip of whiskey.

"I didn't think you'd make it back!" She looked at Daley arrogantly. "So should I call you Daley or Arthur?"

"Everyone calls me Daley now, but you can call me Arthur too. I don't care," said Daley, glancing coldly at Sarah. "I hear you're getting married. To that guy, Ron?"

"Ron?" Sarah said, a look of disgust on her face. "That greedy son of a b.itch who cheated on his wife, I'm not marrying him. He's the one who's been haunting me."

"A man who cheats on his wife. That sounds like a good match for you," Daley said sarcastically. "Don't you play with men all the time?"

"But I never played you," Sarah said as she moved closer to Daley, her fingers sliding down his collar, her eyes full of flirtation.

"If our families were to marry, I'm sure you'd be the richest man in the country," Sarah said, rubbing her scarlet lips in Daley's ear.

Daley glared at her, then put one hand around her neck and said in a calm voice, "Get out!"

The hunter chooses to ignore the prey he is not interested in.

Instead of getting angry, Sarah smiled. She pinched a cherry in a fruit bowl on the table with two fingers and licked it into her mouth in front of Daley. I bet a lot of men would be tempted by her seductive looks, but Daley is a poker face.

"We'll see," Sarah said and left.

Daley's behavior at the auction attracted a lot of attention, so a lot of people came to say hello to Daley. Businessmen from all walks of life, politicians, and other family agents. They are all after Logan's name. Then I saw my father walking over with Gina, and he went up to Daley and introduced himself.

"Hello, Mr. Logan," my father said to Daley with a business smile, "I'm Mikeal, head of the Green Group, and this is my daughter Gina."

"Hello, Mr. Green." Daley stood up and shook my father's hand.

"My daughter looks up to you. She wants to be your friend." It seems my father is selling his daughter to outsiders again.

"I hear your daughter's a wanted woman," said Daley, squinting at Gina. "I don't like trouble."

"I think you misunderstood." My father hurriedly smiled, "My eldest daughter is indeed wanted by the police. She deliberately killed my wife, and I have severed my legal relationship with her. Now I only have one daughter, Gina."

Gina looked at Daley with her usual watery eyes, pretending to be innocent to gain the sympathy of men. Daley, however, ignored her. But my father still wanted to sell his daughter, so he continued.

"If I get a chance, I'd like to take you out to dinner and talk about our future partnership." My father was more modest after losing $1 billion. At least he had to pretend to be nice to outsiders.

"Why not now?" Daley said.

"If you have the time, I'd love to," my father said. "Why don't we go somewhere private and have a talk?"

"OK," Daley said, standing up to me.

"You can have as much fun as you want, and I'll see you when I'm done."

I watched him leave with my father. Gina was still on the sofa, her eyes fixed on the ruby ring in my hand.

"You're so lucky," she said. "My name is Gina. Can we be friends? You look like a friend I know."

Did she recognize me? I smiled at her, then lowered my voice and said, "We can have a drink."

"Of course," Gina said.

I went to the bar and asked the waiter for two cocktails. When no one was looking, I took the glass bottle out of my bag.

'Use it to catch an animal and play with it. '

I walked over to Gina with two cocktails.

She drank the special cocktail without any precaution. I thought she would stay and talk to me, but she made an excuse to leave. So I followed her quietly. My prey cannot be picked up by others.

I watched her turn into the bathroom, but after about 10 minutes I didn't see her come out. Confused, I walked in. It was empty, and the doors to every bathroom were open.

She's gone? Or am I wrong? But prey doesn't just disappear. They tend to be good at hiding.

So I reached for my handbag, which had been lying on the sink, and was ready to leave. Suddenly, a piercing pain immediately hit the back of my hand. A silver fork went straight into the back of my hand. Blood splattered on the marble platform.

"I knew it was you," Gina snapped. "My sister."
