"I have to get back at them!" I pulled my hand out of my boxing glove and threw them to the ground. Frade was sitting next to me, his forehead dripping with sweat.
After disposing of the body, he took me back to the villa. He thought that the anger in me had only temporarily subsided. If I want to really quell this murderous urge that can erupt at any time, I have to exercise to burn off my energy.
So Frade took me to his private boxing room. He will be my coach this time. It was not until the moonlight fell on the window and formed a thin golden veil that I felt drained. The killing desire of hatred finally retreated to some dark corner of the heart.
"Who?" Frade goes to the fridge and takes out two bottles of mineral water. He hands me one.
"My father, and the general!" Maybe I shouldn't have called him my father.
"We need a new plan," Frade said. "Your father is a business celebrity, and his death will draw the attention of the police if we don't handle it well enough."
"Jorah is dead, and when he gets home and doesn't see Jorah, he's going to know something." I feel like I don't have much time, and I have to perfect my plan before he does.
"Your father's business meetings last for at least three days. If I use my personal connections, I can keep him on the island for a few more days. You'll have plenty of time to get ready," Frade said, "The results of the merger case will be announced in two days. Aren't you going to tell me your plans?"
I looked at him in amazement. "Do you want to buy the gas company, too?"
"Why not?" Frade shrugged. "That's big business!"
"No, it's a bomb!" I had to tell him the truth, "The gas companies are mainly drilling abroad. There will soon be a war in that country. The foreign governments will take back drilling rights by force. This is a failed investment!"
Yes, I knew this in my previous life. Ron's failed bid saved him from a crisis. But his competitors were not so lucky. In a previous life, the Logan family lost badly!
"That's why you want your husband to put everything he has into it, and you're helping him get a bank loan," Frade muses. "You want him to lose everything?"
I nodded. Ron is a greedy man, and the only thing that can hurt him is to make him lose everything, and then I will kill him slowly like a cat playing with a mouse!
"But have you ever considered that you're still legally married to him, which means you have to take on his debt," Frade said. "You can't hurt yourself to hurt your enemy, Eva, you have to divorce him!"
I didn't think of that, d.amn it! I almost put myself in danger.
"As long as I drop out of the bidding, your husband will have no trouble winning the gas company!" Frade gave me a deep look. "You won't forget our agreement, will you? I said I want you!"
"But it's not over yet," I said hurriedly. "A divorce now would only raise Ron's suspicions!"
"No!" Frade turned my body to him, "Listen, as long as you divorce Ron, I'll take care of the rest. Let me tell you what I'll do. First, when the foreign war broke out, I would go after the Moors, and I would have the banks put pressure on Ron for all sorts of reasons, so he had to declare bankruptcy. When he's wandering around some street corner with nothing to lose, I'll bring him to you. Then you can do whatever you want to him. Eva, I don't want you to get hurt, and I don't want to lose you like I lost Mia!"
I drank all the water out of the bottle. I have to say, Frade's advice was good for me. Not only will it get me out of this, but it will help me get my revenge. But what would it mean to me if the plan was to be carried out by a second person?
Frade seemed to read my mind, and he went on to persuade me, "You can't do all this on your own. You need help. And I'm just giving you a hand when the time is right. Eva, I want you to take my advice. Because destroying the Moors was part of my plan."
"All right, I'll take your advice!" There were people on my death list that I had to spare more energy to deal with.
My father, Gina, the witness who smeared me, and the unknown general.
I'm so tired!
"What's the date today?" I asked.
"July 14," Fred said.
"Today is my wedding anniversary!" I suddenly remembered. In my previous life, my life collapsed on July 14th!
"So you're going home to celebrate your anniversary with your husband?" Frade sneered. "You're going to go on living with him?"
"I have to go home, but not to celebrate!" I threw the towel around my neck on the floor and strolled off the ring.
"I have to get him to sign the divorce papers!" I turned to Frade. "Today!"
Frade got up and hugged me. He kissed me on the lips. "I'll find the best divorce attorney for you!" he said.
Right after I showered, a lawyer with black-rimmed glasses showed up at the villa. After I talked to him, he wrote a divorce settlement directly for me. After the lawyer left, I took the papers and left Frade's villa.
He insisted on sending me home, but I refused him. This time I had to face it alone. He was worried, so he set up a special call on my phone. Frade told me to press the shortcut key if I was in danger, then he would be in front of me as soon as possible.
"I know, Big Daddy," I said, laughing at his nagging and excessive worry, but Frade said it with a straight face.
"The best way to get back at your enemies is to live better than them! You have to learn to protect yourself!"
I gave him a kiss before I left, and the car drove me back to my house. I texted Ron that he had to come home, that I had something important to tell him.
Ron replied that he would be home on time. It was the first text message he sent me all day. Maybe he didn't care about our anniversary. Our relationship as husband and wife was already dead.
I squeezed the divorce papers in my hand, and maybe it was the best anniversary present I could have gotten.
The car was parked outside, and I was standing in the garden on the path to the house, and I could see the lights in the house. Maybe Ron had come home early.
Several cars were parked on the road. I had never seen anyone park a car on the road at random before. Don't they know they can't park here?
When I opened the door, there was no sign of Ron. A whiff of perfume wafted through the room, and before I knew it, a heavy object hit me hard on the back of the head.
I fell to the ground and my cell phone fell out of my bag. The sudden dizziness made it impossible for me to get up, and with what was left of my mind, I crawled as hard as I could. Before the blackout, I couldn't remember if I had touched the phone.
The sound of high heels filled my ears.
