"No." I unconsciously stepped back and leaned against the door. "That's impossible."

"That's what Daley told me." Rita looked at me worriedly. "Eva, are you all right?"

"I need to be quiet." I picked up the phone from the floor with difficulty. My feet were powerless, as if they were walking on the sponge.

I dialled Frade's phone, but there was a shutdown tone at the other end of the phone. I didn't give up and continued to call his number, but every time I got the same response.

'The number you have dialled is powered off.'

I left the hotel in a trance, the hot sunlight on my face made my eyes tingle. I struggled to walk the streets with grief in my heart. I don't know where to go.

I can't believe it's true.

At this time, a shadow appeared in front of me, and I stopped moving forward. I saw Daley's face in the sun. I looked up, and his lips curled up into a cold smile.

"Where are you going?"

"I'm going to find him." I stared at him angrily. "Tell me, is he dead?"

"Eva, you disappoint me," he said. "You're still thinking about Frade. Unfortunately, he's dead."

"No, I don't believe it." I shook my head. "You're lying to me."

"I can take you to him." He looked at a black Mercedes parked on the side of the road. "If you want."

"I need to see him, even if it's his body," I said, trying to hide my trembling voice. Even when the sun was shining on me, I felt cold.

"Come with me, then," he said, and walked to the Mercedes.

I sat in the car and we kept silent until the car stopped on the dock. I wonder why he brought me here.

He took me aboard a yacht. As the boat pulled out of the dock, I realized something was wrong.

"Where are we going?" I looked warily out into the open sea, where no other ships could be seen.

"You'll know soon enough." He looked calmly ahead, the sea breeze ruffling his hair. Those golden eyes were as unfathomable as ever.

"Here he is," he said. As the ship came to a slow stop, he pointed at the deep blue sea. "This is where he fell that night."

"What's going on?" I looked down at his finger. I couldn't see anything but dark blue.

"I put him on trial last night," said Daley, leaning against the railing, his tone calm as if telling an unremarkable story.

"He wouldn't admit to what he did to me on his deathbed," he said. "I shot him and threw his body into the ocean. If you want to find him, go down there."

"You killed him?" I looked into his eyes, wishing he was just lying to me.

"I told you I'd kill him myself," Daley sneered. "Do you think I'm lying to you?"

"No," I yelled at him. "Frade is not dead. You made it all up."

"My little rose, what will it take for you to believe me?" He said sarcastically. "Have I ever cheated you before?"

"Why did you have to kill him?" I cried. "Why?"

"Because only when he's dead can I have everything that belongs to me, including you," he said, trying to get close to me.

"Now no one can stop me from having you. Come, come close to me, my little rose. I will love you more than Frade," he said, opening his hands to me, "If you come to me, I will forgive you for everything you have done."

"I'm not wrong, and you won't get me." I was desperate, and Frade died because of me. Maybe I should go to the deep sea to find him.

"Come here." His tone softened. "I promise I'll love you."

"No!" As I said, while he was not paying attention, I turned over the railing with my hands and jumped into the sea.

"Eva!" His voice was blown by the sea breeze in my ear. I gave up struggling to sink into the sea.

The salt water poured into my nose and I couldn't breathe. I closed my eyes and let my body sink. At that moment, I finally saw my heart.

All the memories that come to my mind are about Frade. The person I love has always been him.

There seemed to be a force beneath me, and I floated in the sea. When I looked up, I saw a silver light floating on the sea, and a man appeared.

He came to me through that silvery circle of light, and I reached out to him, just as the darkness was about to consume me. I felt a strong hand lift me.

"Eva!" The voice that called to me seemed to come from the distant sky. It came closer and closer, like a spark that lit up all the darkness that covered me.

"Eva。"

"Eva, please. Wake up."

As if a force had struck my chest, I suddenly opened my mouth and spat out the seawater that was blocking my lungs. I gasped and my mind went blank.

"You're awake," the voice said in my ear.

Then I found myself lying on a bed in the cabin. Daley was soaked all over, and there was a panicked look that appeared in his eyes. It was the first time I had seen him so frightened.

"Why save me?" I pushed his hand away. "Get away from me."

"Why won't you forget him?" He was angry, his eyes burning with anger.

"Why would you rather die than be with me?" His tone was full of sadness, "When you were dying, it was you who begged me to save you. After Frade abandoned you, it was you who said you wanted to marry me. You have now exhausted all my tolerance and mercy."

"You lied to me first," I yelled at him. "You've been planning how to deal with Frade since you decided to save me. Everything you've done has been for your benefit."

"Nonsense!" He glared at me.

"I said I wanted to leave here with you. I said I wanted to go to Mexico with you." Tears blurred my eyes. "I had decided to forget Frade. It was you. It was you who couldn't forget your hatred. It was you who couldn't give up your interests."

"I didn't do anything wrong," he said.

"But he didn't do anything wrong, either!" I said desperately. "That's the difference between you and him. You'll never replace him."

After the silence, he put a blanket over me. His tone softened after a heavy sigh.

"Let's stop having arguments about a dead man." He knelt beside the bed, his voice helpless.

"Promise me you won't kill yourself again. I'll promise you anything as long as you stop hurting yourself."

"Including divorcing me?" I looked at him.
