URIEL'S POV

THEY immediately arranged a wake the next day. Ma texted me the location as I lay on the sofa, staring at the ceiling. I can't sleep a wink even if I tried hard. I feel empty. It's as if nothing matters anymore. I'm too lazy to move, I just want to lie down and stare blankly at something.

"Sir Uriel!"

I sat down upon hearing Seb's voice. I looked around. Then I realized he's not here anymore. A hallucination. Ah, here comes the tears again.

I checked my phone and was surprised when I saw Ma made 10 missed calls. What's more surprising is it's already 10:54 AM. The last time I checked, it's just 4:15 AM.

I sighed and afterwards shouted as I saw someone at the foot of the sofa.

"WHO ARE YOU?"

Nagulat din siya. "S-Sir! A-ako po ang reliever ni Sir Sebastian. I-inutusan po ako ni Sir Gabriel na pumunta rito."

"Pa'no ka nakapasok?" I massaged my chest. My heart is beating loudly because of shock.

"B-binigay po ni Sir Gabriel 'yong passcode ng unit niyo. Sabi niya po kapag 'di niyo binuksan 'yong pinto after three doorbells, pumasok na po ako. S-sorry po Sir!" He bowed down.

"That's fine," I stood and walked towards my room. I looked back and asked him. "What's your name?"

"James po, Sir." He nervously answered.

"Okay James. Feel free to eat if you're hungry. I might take a while to prepare."

True enough it took me almost an hour to shower. I have to mentally drag myself out of the bathroom to dress up. Tamad na tamad talaga akong kumilos.

I wore an all black outfit and went out my room. I saw James standing while drinking a bottled mineral water. No'ng makita niya ako, he choked.

"Let's go," I coldly said. Nauna na akong lumabas sa kanya.

James is a fast but smooth driver. Parang kasasakay ko pa lang, nandito na agad kami sa chapel malapit sa bahay namin. The facade  has a lot of large crown of flowers. Probably from Dad's business partners. A few people are already there and that includes Ma, Tita Ruth and Esther. Their eyes are all red from crying too much.

"Uriel," Ma called. "How are you 'nak? Kumain ka na ba?"

I shook my head. "I don't have the appetite Ma."

She held my hand and patted it. "Kumain ka kahit konti, parating na 'yong in-order naming food."

I nodded. I have this urge to smile back to Ma so that she'll not worry about me pero 'di ko magawa. "I'll sit in front," I hugged her then proceeded to sit at the second row of pew chairs.

I intently looked at the big frames of Jackie and Seb's picture. In just one night, I lost two of the most important people in my life. They also died suddenly and in an unjust way.

I sighed as tears rolled down my cheeks. I don't really know what to feel right now. Should I be regretful? Sorrowful? Enraged?

"Sir," James whispered and put a roll of tissue beside me. I looked at it and used a few to wipe my tears.

No one dared to come near me but I recognized some who visited. I heard the voices of Tine and the rest of Jackie's office friends. I also heard Rodney, their boss. The chapel is slowly filled with people. I can hear Ma and my titas talking to them. I should too, but I don't have the energy to do so. I just sat and stared at their framed pictures.
