URIEL'S POV
"SIR U!"
I felt a soft tap on my right arm. "Uy, gising na. Bahala ka uubusan ka ni Brent kapag pumunta na 'yon dito."
I gently opened my eyes. I know that voice by heart. I sat and looked around. Then I saw her. Jackie was busy setting the table. I can smell the delectable scent of fried rice.
Alam kong panaginip lang 'to but I'm happy that I can see her again. I can't take my eyes off of her as I sit on one of the dining table chairs.
"Nagluto ako ng marami kasi balita ko 'di ka raw kumakain ng maayos. May sunny side up egg," as she talks she's also showing the dish to me. "Bacon, corned beef na may patatas, chicken nuggets, at siyempre soup!" She sat across my seat.
"Oh, bakit ka umiiyak?" She looks worried.
I wiped my tears. "I'm just happy to see you again."
She smiled. Her chinky eyes sparkled with joy and her cute mouth corner dimples showed. "'Eto namang si Sir U, ang aga-aga nagpapakilig."
My tears of joy turned into tears of bitterness. I missed how she messes around. I'm also well aware that this can be the last time that I'll see her face to face.
I held her hand. I'll not waste any of my precious time. "Jackie, I'm really really sorry. I was not able to protect you just like what I've promised."
She put her hand on top of mine. "Okay lang 'yon, Sir U. 'Wag mo nang sisihin ang sarili mo. Wala kang kasalanan."
"But..." I can feel my heart wrenching in pain. Buhay at kasama ko pa sana siya ngayon if I hadn't planned that trip.
"Anong but-but ka diyan? Basta, patawarin mo na ang sarili mo. Hindi ako matatahimik sa other side kung ganito ka. Usto mo yorn?"
Jackie stood up and moved to the seat next to mine. She turned my head in her direction and wiped my tears. "Lagi mong sasabihin sa sarili mo wala kang kasalanan, hmm?"
"Pero 'di man lang kita nabigyan ng justice," my tears kept on welling up from my eyes.
She shook her head. "'Yong nag-effort ka para alamin kung sino ang may kagagawan ng pagkamatay namin ni Kuya Seb, sapat na 'yon. Hindi mo na rin kailangan maghiganti, bad 'yon nukaba."
She caressed my cheeks. "Salamat, Sir U. Thank you sa lahat-lahat."
I tried hard not to sob but I still did. "Please don't leave me, Jackie. Dito ka na lang ha? Please stay," I tightly held her hands that caresses my cheeks.
"I'm sorry, Sir U. Hanggang dito na lang talaga ako," she lightly tapped my cheeks. "Kailangan mong matanggap 'yong katotohanan na wala na ako. Hindi mo na 'ko makakasama," she laughed. "Wala naman siguro akong penalty kasi 'di ko natapos 'yong kontrata natin 'no?"
I shook my head.
She came closer then hugged me tight. "Alam ko mahihirapan kang tanggapin na wala na kami ni Kuya Seb pero wala kang choice," she laughed again as she patted my back. How can she laugh at times like this? "Paunti-unti, araw-araw, you move forward. Mabuhay ka nang normal," she broke the hug. "Kapag okay na ang lahat, pwede ka nang magmahal ulit. This time, totoo na. 'Di na japeyks," she giggled.
She held my hand. "Alagaan mo sarili mo, Sir U ha? Kumain ka sa oras, mag-gym ka ulit! Sayang 'yang mga yummy abs at biceps mo oh!" She pointed at it. "Magpahinga ka rin at baka magkasakit ka ulit. Ano pa bang dapat kong sabihin? Ah!"
"Ang makilala ka Sir U," she smiled again. "Ang pinakamasayang part ng buhay ko."
And with that, I woke up.
