Overflow

It saddened me to know
that it would take a sad movie
or see another person with the same fate
before we knew

We bled through a character
Feel for the other
Mourn for a stranger's pain
Reflecting it as ours

We tried so hard to hold things in
Present a face that was not ours
In it's place, keeping everything in
We pretend that it's okay

It would take a tear
to fall on your cheeks
before you realize
that it's not okay

We have to overflow
