They are kids,
They remember everything you said
Every word ever uttered;
Most beautiful ones ever said
Flowery and elegant, gentle and nice,
Even those evil and treacherous,
Painful words they don't even understand
They heard it all and was planted into their heads
They are kids,
They remember everything you ever did
From the first time
You held their hand
And you made them smile
To the first heartache
The moment you made them cry
And because they look up to you
They follow your every move
Even the words you have ever said
To strangers they never knew
And this big admiration and respect they have
Leads to loving you
They are kids,
They are of the purest of souls
Hurt them and they would cry
But they never leave and they stay
Abandon them
And they would blame themselves
Still, they will wait for you to come back,
Even if you told them to go away
Hate them, loathe them, punish them
It would be a scarred soul
But it will never stop to look up and love you
With all it's might
With all it's strength
Even if you left them as weak
With worry in their eyes
With questions in their minds
All answered and mistakes forgotten,
If you just come back and give them a smile
"Foolish", as you may describe them
But what more could I say to you?
Wouldn't it be wholesome
To love the ones who loves the greatest?
And to be loved as the one
Who loves the most?
But I don't know how to properly convey
In mere words or simple sentences
In forms of arts, music, or poetry
They are kids, after all.
They are kids just like you once were
The child you, the younger you
The innocent one with a smile on her face
That little kid that has now left with no trace
As you now look into the mirror
To see the scarred version made by this world
A sight to see, not to pass down and repeat
Just please, be kind. Be a lot kinder to these kids.
