Luke P.O.V

I tugged my beanie down as I shoved my hands in my pockets. I put my head down as I prepared for my long walk through the alley, this was daily but I still didn't want to catch any attention.

I let out a heavy breath as I felt my nose get colder from the winter air. Light flakes of snow fell swiftly as I buried my nose in my jacket.

Walking fast yet cautiously I looked on to see the faint street light near my apartment.

My eyebrows furrowed as I heard small sniffing. I looked down at my old watch and decided I had much time to spare before the boys would be here.

I turned a corner and peeked over to see a dark figure sitting on the ground, hovering over a small backpack and digging in it. I noticed the figure as a girl, as I could see her long lilac hair peeking out under her black beanie.

I cleared my throat as her head snapped up instantly holding a small dagger.

Her eyes widened as she looked at me. Slowly she put her knife down. I smiled nervously and stepped closer making her flinch.

"Hi." I whispered crouching down next to her. Her big brown eyes only widened even more as her breath hitched.

She looked to be about 13 or 14. And I couldn't help but smile at how pretty her hair was.

"Im Luke." I said gently. She bit her lip as she scooted back a little.

"Jasmine." she echoed.

"Are you lost?" I questioned as she only frowned and looked down.

"I ran away." Was all she murmured. I frowned at her words.

"How far?"

She shrugged slumping down on the cold pavement.

"Probably miles." she muttered adjusting her beanie.

"Well Jasmine," I murmured meeting my eyes with hers, "your parents are probably worried sick about you."

"So?" she questioned sounding quite irritated. "It's not like they cared anyway. They pretty much encouraged me to leave."

I sighed inwardly and grabbed her backpack.

"Fine," I murmured, "then your coming with me."

She gave me a funny look then tugged her backpack away from my grasp.

"Can't," she muttered with no emotion, " 'stranger danger' remember?"

"Well guess what," I huffed snatching her backpack again, "we're not strangers anymore."

"You live alone?" Jasmine questioned as I 'invited' her in my apartment.

"Yeah," I chuckled, "I go to college here in the city."

"Why does this place look so old and abandoned."

"Because it is."

"What?!"

"Im just kidding but you got the first part right. This place is pretty old." I shrugged setting her bag on a bar stool as I prepared to heat up the small place.

"We have guests coming over so-"

"I don't care you're not my mom." she muttered grabbing an apple and plopping down on my couch.

"You know," I chuckled, "as soon as I find your parents you're going back home."

Her eyes widened immediately as a look of fear was built in them. I swear she looked like she was about to cry.
