My best friend Riley put the restraints on my wrists after dinner and handcuffed me to a pole in her basement. I hissed in pain as she grabbed another rope and tied my arms back tighter. I almost howled in pain.
"Too...tight." I whispered and and Riley scoffed.
"Last time, you escaped. This time, it's going to be way tighter since you haven't been able to control yourself lately."
"Well it's not my fault everything makes me angry." I blew a puff of air and my colored hair bounced in front of my eyes. Bright red and blue. My favorite mix. Almost like Harley Quinn but I'm not her...sadly.
"Penny, you need to stop letting out your anger on full moon nights. You could hurt someone...like you did to me." Riley whispered and looked down after she tied the final rope around my wrists again. The flaring pain disappeared and was replaced with sadness.
"Why do you always bring that up?" I whispered trying shake off the memory of her arms covered in blood and bruises. It was after my house began falling apart and I lost my pack. I was almost in depression but Riley picked me up. She always picked me up. And I all I ever was let her down. Normal teens would carry their drunk friend home, but for us, Riley had to carry her angry werewolf home. She didn't know how to calm me anymore so she only had one option, restraints.
"So I can calm you." She smiled warmly. "It makes you sad not angry right?" She raised an eyebrow and I rolled my eyes and looked away. I closed my eyes as I already felt myself changing. The full moon was here.
"Go." I growled and that was her cue to leave and lock the door behind her. But her dumbass, forgot to lock the window.
......
-luke-
"Michael this is ridiculous." I rolled my eyes as he was on his hands and knees still digging through the dirt.
"It has to be here somewhere!" He groaned in frustration. I crossed my arms as cold air blew at the back of my neck. The night was beginning to get chilly and we were in the middle of the freaking woods. And Michael decided to drag me out here to look for his sweatshirt because he forgot it here when we were playing football.
Yes, we played football in the woods.
There were howls and a chill ran up my spine. Was it a coyote? Are there coyotes around here? Or maybe it's just a dumb dog...
"Michael let's go." I muttered and glanced down at my arms that were now pale.
"Wait wait! I see it Luke! Come on we'll make this quick and mum won't beat my ass."
"Hurry up." I muttered and he nodded and ran off. I watched his flashlight in the shadows flashing from one place to the other. I waited patiently as I watched him bend down and grasp the navy blue fabric and clutch it to his chest as if it wasn't covered in sweat and dirt and whatever the hell that was out here. My eyes widened though when I heard a low growl behind me.
Michael was walking towards me again with a smile.
"I found it Luke!" He grinned. The growl was closer to my ear now and I suppressed a girly scream. Michael stopped in his tracks when he got closer and now I knew for sure that something was behind me.
"Run." I ordered, "RUN." Then he turned around and sprinted. I turned around at the same moment and there was a wolf.
A werewolf.
Before I can open my mouth and scream it had already latched it's hand around my throat. I gasped and fought for my life. I wasn't going to die at 18. This can't be happening. I pushed the wolf away and managed to scramble up and start running.
