.......

My head was spinning. Well...that's because I was actually physically spinning around in circles while everyone stared at me like I was crazy. And yeah...maybe I was.

"Dude...Mack you alright?" Michael caught me in his arms. I smiled up at him lazily.

"I feel amazing Mikey."

"I can't tell if you're drunk or high."

I frowned ripping away from his grip. "None. You jerk." I muttered falling backwards on the couch.

"Maybe I should take you home." Luke volunteered whilst standing up.

"Sit down Lucas." I groaned shoving his shoulder back down. Everyone was confused. If I'm not high and I'm not drunk then why does it seem like I am?

"I thought you would all know that when it's 2 am, I'm not exactly...myself."

"What do you mean?" Olive asks lifting her head off Ashton's shoulder.

"What I mean olive oil, is that I do random shit. Okay?" I laughed burying my face in a pillow.

"I know why she's acting like that." Ashton finally spoke.

"Ashton, I already told you-"

"No Mack, the real reason. You and Calum got in a fight didn't you?"

"It's whatever." I sighed.

"Call him." Michael urged.

"What? No!"

"Mack, knowing Cal he's probably sobbing in his room right now thinking about you, even if he refused to come here I just know he's sulking with ice cream right now." Luke mumbled.

"Probably getting all dramatic as if they're a couple and they actually broke up." Olive laughed.

"That would've been 10 times worse." Ashton laughed. They all began to make fun of our friendship and eventually started chatting and laughing about random things. I took that as a way to slip away excusing myself to the "bathroom". Instead I fished out my keys and the turned the car on pulling out of the driveway of Olive's house.

I turned the radio on as Castle on the Hill was playing. I hummed and realised I didn't actually know where I was going.

Maybe I should just drive.

Instead I turned the familiar intersection to my best friend's house pulling into his small driveway. Smaller than Olives, smaller than mine and Luke's and Michael's and Ashton's.

I stood outside the house and noticed all the lights were off. I wish I could just climb in like they did in my favorite romance novels. I could try throwing rocks at his window but the only rocks here were bigger than the size of my palm and even I know pebbles wouldn't wake the sleep. I could call or text him but his phone is always off when he sleeps.

I sighed knowing I was out of options. Thats when I noticed the garage was open enough for me to crawl in. I grinned instantly and turned the flashlight on in my phone. I just hoped these guys didn't have security alarms in the damn garage.

Once I was in i shined the flashlight around for something to help me get inside. I mean...obviously the door would be locked so there's got to be something. Something that wouldn't seem loud.

"Bingo!" I whispered shouted. I aimed my light at a tall ladder. I smirked, there we go. Now, all I had to was sneak it under the garage without making any cladder. The minute I grabbed the ladder the lights in the garage opened and I jumped almost throwing the ladder on the ground.

I gently set it on the floor and pushed it out praying it was long enough to reach Calum's bedroom. Once I slipped out I dragged it across the grass to the backyard and silently put the ladder against the wall. Then I began climbing, until I reached the last step. I had to stand on the tip of the ladder to reach Cal's window and hoist myself inside.

I made a silent prayer then shut my eyes tightly and stepped on the last part of the ladder. I muffled my shriek and held onto his window for support.

Damn, the things I have to do for this freaking friendship.

To my relief he always keeps his window open in the summer so all I had to do is punch a hole through the mesh. Or I could save it and just lift it out quietly. Yeah...second option.

Before I knew it, I was lifting the window higher and using all my strength to heave myself over the ledge. I gasped nearly slipping but sighing in relief when I felt the fuzzy carpet on my bare toes. Yeah...I left my sandals on the ground. I pushed the curtains away and slowly pointed my flashlight around then gasped.

Wrong room. This was Calum's parents room DAMMIT. I frantically looked around for the door and crawled over lightly opening it but cringing as it made a creaking noise.

Joy stirred then cleared her throat. "Calum? Is that you?"

I froze...then I heard her turn around and fall back asleep. I sighed in relief for like 10th time tonight. I looked around frantically once I reached the hallway and thankfully found Calum's room. I crawled over quickly and hoped to god it wasn't locked.

It was.

After such a long journey I come to find his room freaking locked. Unless...

I gasped and jumped up and tiptoed down the stairs. They always keep the key to every door right above the bathroom door frame. I felt my hands around in the dark and the cool metal touched my finger tips.

"Bingo!" I whispered for the second time this night and crawled back up to Calum's room twisting the key through the keyhole.

What I did not expect to see was a girl on her knees, naked, in front of a naked Calum sitting in his chair. I gasped... dropping my key on the ground as the two pulled away. I cringed as she wiped away the cum from her lip. I looked away in disgust as the two scrambled for their clothes.

"Mack I-" he started but it felt I had been betrayed even though we were never an item. Before I could turn and leave, the girl beat me to it and ran out. The minute she ran past I noticed his room reaked of sex. "Sorry Mack I didn't know you were coming." He mumbled bluntly.

"You're right I shouldn't have even came." I grumbled turning to leave.

"But Mack-" he grabbed my arm but I pulled away quickly.

"Get your filthy hands off me Calum Hood. I came here because Luke, Michael, Ashton and Olive reassured me that you were probably sulking in your room. I came to apologise and here I find you with no care in the world fucking someone."

"Mack it's 2 am how the hell did you even get in?"

"That doesn't answer my question as to why you were fucking some random girl Calum."

"Why does it matter to you Mack huh? It's not like you and I were even a thing. And don't call her some random girl, she's my girlfriend."

That word rings in my ear the minute he says it. My heart drops.

"Your girlfriend?" I whisper quite hurt. His face falls as he realizes the hurt on my face.

"Yeah Mack but we're still friends right?"

I sniffle turning away to avoid him seeing me cry.

"Yeah," I whisper, "always will be...just friends."

Take a deep breath and walk through halls it's the morning of your very first day
You say hi to your friends you haven't seen in awhile....
