-mya's pov-

I crawl out of bed and check my appearence in the mirror. My wavy, hazelnut hair was in a mess of knots urging me to comb through every single one of them. I leaned closer to the mirror staring hard into my own brown eyes, searching for any sort of change. But my bored eyes stared back at me with that same color. Brown and normal. I was normal, for 16 years now...well as of today.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" I flinched as a chorus of yells rang through while my door bursted open and all 4 boys ran in at the same time causing them to get tangled in each other and fall to the ground. They were all unattractively wearing party hats and blowing bright pink party horns. I stared at my older brother Michael who had surprised me with his new hair color, rose gold. "Happy birthday, Mya." He grinned at me again then blew the party horn. I forced a smile.

"Thank you." I chuckled. "I need to get ready though, just imagine if you guys barged in while I was changing! I would've probably killed you all." I laughed while they all stood up with goofy grins.

"You know I wouldn't mind if you were naked." Luke winked as Michael slapped him on the head.

"What have I told you about flirting with my sister, Hemmings?"

"I'm sorry! It's just part of my personality." Luke winced as he rubbed his head and walked out the door followed by Cal and Ash. Michael began to close the door but stopped midway and turned to me.

"You like my hair?"

"Yeah, it's pretty cool." I shrugged but on the inside I was excited because I had picked the color.

"Thanks! Get dressed quick. Luke's driving us today and we're gonna stop by and get you a birthday a breakfast." Michael flashed his bright green eyes at me with a smirk then closed the door. I sat on my bed with a small thud remembering that I still didn't have flashy bright eyes...if I ever would.

I was the only one in my family who hadn't received my super powers and I hated every second of it. I always felt left out with my friends but mostly, my family. Mom and Dad always secretly told me that I shouldn't worry and that I'm "gifted" but I never understood that. After all that's all that they have been telling me ever since I was 7. As for Michael, he never showed much interest in ghe fact that I was still "powerless". The hair dying dork was always stuck in his own world. He had conceived his powers at 3 months old which was a quite unique power of steel skin and size shifting.

It was obviously uncontrollable as a kid which is why some of the items in our house are forever steel. But as he grew older he learned how to control his talent of not only turning himself into steel, but also objects.

Mom has the powers of heat and healing which she says that she too conceived at an old age, 11. She thinks that her story makes me feel so much better but to my knowledge, most supes conceive their powers before the age of 10. Me? I just might be a normal after all.

The man of the house obviously has the most powers in the family after his great duty to protecting our world. He has the combination powers of strength, flight, intelligence, hand weaponry and a warm heart which we all know is because of mom.

And so here I am off to school in a car full of super hero dorks on our way to a normal school. Of course, we can't reveal our identities so we stick together pretending that we are as normal as the kids at school.

Luke's powers are flexibility and heat vision, Calum's are quickness and night vision and Ashton's powers are invisibility and super hearing. That's why no secrets are kept from him yet he was one of the most trustworthy people that I had ever met.
