Once again my books were knocked to the ground. I sighed and bent down barely making eye contact with the boy who made my life a living hell.

Tyler.

He smirked down at me as he kicked my books away. His girlfriend suddenly ran towards him and held him back.

She rolled her eyes and gave me a glare,

"Just give the girl a break Ty. She's had enough shit for the past 3 weeks already."

My eyes widened at her words, like dude who are you? Tyler grunted and shoved her off gently. He forcefully intertwined his hands with her, (Victoria) and turned around.

Victoria turned her head back giving me an apologetic smile as Tyler forced her forward again. Why was she suddenly acting nice and then at the same time glaring at me?

I gave them a confused look then gathered my books and sped off to class.

It was soon lunch as I went out to my usual tree. I fished out the book I was currently reading for English. The Great Gatsby.

Suddenly a figure hovered over me. I was startled since no one really knew I sat all the way out here. I slowly looked up tucking my book away. My face fell as Victoria stood in front of me. I prepared myself for the insults and humiliation. Instead she murmured,

"Is someone sitting here?"

I slowly shook my head as she plopped down. She looked at my book and smiled,

"I love that book." she smiled.

I returned the look and only looked down. We sat in an uncomfortable silence until she spoke up.

"Hey...uh listen,"

My head snapped up as she gave me pleading eyes.

"Im sorry that Tyler is such a dick to you."

My eyes widened at her words. They were known as the hottest couple im school.

"A-and I'm sorry for acting bitchy...t-to you and everyone."

I just stared at her.

"The reason why I'm like that....is because Tyler forces me. He forced me into this relationship and he forces me to be bitchy. And my parents really enjoy it. They love Tyler."

I gave her a sad look and murmured, "It's ok."

"Anyway I managed to get away from Tyler. And...like you seemed cool so maybe we can be friends?"

I smiled amd nodded.

"I noticed we have quite a lot in common." She pulled out cd of Green Day in her pocket.

Placing it in my lap, she sighed.

"I stole this long ago and listened to it for hours. Im so sorry."

I chuckled and put it back in her lap, "Keep it." I smiled.

"Really?! After all I've done...gosh Tara you're too nice."

I shrugged. Yeah everyone pretty much took advantage of that.

Soon lunch was over and Vicky told me she would meet me at the end of the day.
