I opened my window just enough to let fresh air inside my pitch black room. The air soothing my nerves that were once tense. The sounds of yelling calmed down and soon the lights were off. My mind lurking with horrid thoughts as I felt my way around the dark using the moonlight to find my way back to bed.

I lay silently burying myself underneath the covers listening to the cars that drove in the distance. It seemed louder than usual since the window was open but I've been feeling nauseated anyway. I bit my lip hard replaying the events from not only an hour ago. The screaming and yelling as items crashed to the floor shattering into pieces that were too small to fix. Like my pathetic heart.

I wondered if my household would ever be the same again. But I doubted it. When I wake up tomorrow, at least one person will be gone, disappearing for a few days then coming back to a broken household. It seemed like they took turns taking these stupid breaks. Where they would go, I wouldn't have a clue but it's not like that mattered anyway since they always came back. But sometimes, I would have this sickening feeling in the pit of stomach. What if they both left and were too angry to come back?
Those were the times I wished I weren't an only child.

I was snapped back into reality though when the loud sounds of motorcycles filled my ears. It sounded as if they were racing. My mind drifted listening to the sounds of the motorcycles. I imagined them on a highway, side by side, one a little but more in front that the other but then the other one catches up.

It sounded as if the motorcycles were coming closer. Slowly, the sounds began to get louder making me sit up in bed and hurry over to my window. I heard the sound of shouts again in the room beside me, they weren't asleep yet. I pushed the curtains back and glanced at the road. And then, I saw two motorcycles slow down. Both men wore helmets that covered their face. They were laughing...I could hear it. They were having more fun than me.

Then they lifted their helmets off. One of them walked over and gave a 'bro hug' to the other. I could barely make out their small conversation.

"It was nice seeing you bro. We gotta do this again sometime."

"For sure Luke, I'm glad we got to see each other again. I haven't seen you since the first day of freshmen year college."

"Been awhile hasn't it?" The one named Luke chuckled. His messy blonde locks completed his bad boy look but the other one with black and navy blue hair pulled the bad boy image off perfectly even of they both wore leather jackets.

"I'll see you around mate." The one named Luke hugged the other one again then hopped back onto his bike and grabbed his helmet. He glanced up towards me but before I could hide behind the curtain, he sent me a wink then placed his helmet on and drove off.

I was too surprised to hide behind the curtain again so I didn't see the blue haired boy college boy walk closer to my window. I prayed to the Lord above that he wouldn't be able to hear the shouts from the room next door.

"Everything alright in your house there miss?" He spoke politely and my heart gave a little leap. Hot, College bad boy with soft personality? Yes please. I realized that I recognized the kid who was a senior in school back then when I was still a little sophomore. He was only maybe two years older. Lucky for me, I was still stuck in highschool as a senior-note sarcasm.

I was lost for words as I stared him down from above. My eyes trickling from the navy blue streaks in his hair that glistened in the moonlight and dim street lamp to his leather jacket to the dark helmet clutched in his hand. I was speechless. So I only managed to awkwardly nod my head.

"YOU BLOODY IDIOT."

"THAT'S ENOUGH CAROL."

This time the voices were louder and I cringed when the boy titled his head up to strain his ears.

"Are you alone?" He pouted. I shrugged my shoulders playing with the curtain. I know I probably looked ridiculous but I was still fumbling for words and thinking about what has happened in these past few minutes. I felt slow. "Would you like to...escape it for awhile?" He murmured but his voice seemed like a loud whisper to my ears.

"What?" Was the first word I spoke incredulously. Was he serious? Did he really think I would get dressed and go around with some guy, who I didn't really even know properly, and let him take me god knows where? I do plan on living a long healthy life, I'm just taking my precautions.

"Just trust me." He grinned and held out his helmet.

"No way I...I don't even know who the hell you are..." I trailed off but he and I both knew I was interested.

"THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT JOHN. EVERYTHING HAPPENED BECAUSE OF YOU."

"YEAH? WELL WAS IT MY FAULT OUR DAUGHTER WAS AN ACCIDENT? YOU AGREED TO DO IT."

I painfully shut my eyes at the mention of my existence. Sometimes I wished I didn't exist. Then I wouldn't have been such a burden on my mom and dad. Maybe they would have just been each other's one night stands and moved on with their lives. It doesn't sound like they were made for each other anyway.

I glanced down at the bad boy again who was dangling the helmet with two fingers now.

"Hi, my name is Michael."

"I'm Addison."

.....

"So Addison is this your first time on a bike?" Michael asked me. He had noticed my hands clutched around his waist desperately holding onto to him tightly.

"Yes. But at the speed you're going, makes me feel as if I'm going to fly off." I screamed in his ear in the wind. We were on an empty highway and Michael still hadn't told me where we were headed. I didn't know why we were going super fast but the adrenaline was something I had never felt before. It was this rush of excitement that made me crave more.

"Are you sure?" He gripped his handle tighter than slowly twisted it. "Because, I was gonna make this thing go faster." He yelled then speeded faster making me scream and clutch onto him tighter.

Ok that sounded wierd.

But it seemed he was enjoying the empty highway and my deafening screams. Though in the inside, I was screaming with excitement.

"WOOHOO." He yelled carelessly and swerved from lane to lane. "I HOPE YOU DON'T GET MOTION SICKNESS ADDS."

"WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT IVE BEEN FEELING SICK THIS WHOLE TIME."

"OH SHIT DON'T VOMIT ON ME BABE."

"I'LL TRY NOT TO." I joked and slowly my grip on his waist loosened. We weren't going extremely fast anymore. We were at the point of where we were just mixing with the wind. I lifted up the front part of my helmet and let the cool night air hit me. I felt like I was flying as the night lights danced around me in a blur.

"Are you enjoying your freedom Adds?" Michael called out after awhile. I nodded my head and realized he didn't see me. Then I said,

"It's going to be one hell of a moment to remember."

"I'm glad you feel happy. We can do this more often."

"Okay but, where exactly are we going Michael? I asked. I felt his body shake with low laughter.

"Wherever the wind takes us."

"Clichè."

"Indeed."

now that school has started I obviously won't be updating as much anymore this year because classes are getting harder. so my schedule will only be weekend updates and other days that I'm off. and if I'm lucky enough to finish my homework on time, I might add another update during the week.
