I waved my hand frantically. "Herre."

"Oh." the substitute muttered as he looked at me through the rim of his glasses. "I was expecting a boy sorry."

I only frowned at the class let out low chuckles. My cheeks heated up as I spotted the cutest boy out of the whole school chuckling from across the room.

My eyes narrowed to the teacher and I felt like spitting out 'jerk', but I only said that inside my head as usual so no one else would hear it but me. Cause I'm nice. (not really)

"Here."

"Alex?"

"He's absent." Calum mumbled tapping his pencil repeatedly only to make me shift cause of how much that bothered me.

The teacher nodded while continuing the list. I sighed, this was gonna be a long day.

"Hello Magdalena." I smiled patting my best friend's head.

"Ugh don't call me that, Justin."

"Whatever." I laughed placing my bag next to me as we ate lunch outdoors.

"So, did you catch his eye today?"

I snorted, "Pshh he'd probably think I was some sort of tomboy always carying the skateboard around with me. He laughed at me today cause our substitute in Biology thought I would be a boy, cause you know my name and all."

"And you're hair too." Maggie joked.

"Shutup Mags I like my hair this way."

My hair was cut short. Like really short. Like Shailene Woodley from Insurgent short. But I had dyed it a strip of blonde on the top and I guess it wasnt that bad. Besides, I loved standing out from the crowd.

"Well," I muttered grabbing my snapback and skateboard, "Im busting out of here what about you Mags?"

Maggie and I were really different from each other but that's what really molded our friendship together. The girly girl and tomboy.

"Nope I have an English test sorry I have to raise my grade up in that class."

I shrugged, "Its cool are we still on for band practice tomorrow?"

She smirked. That was the only thing we had in common. Best music taste.

"Definitely."

I froze in place and slowly set my skateboard down. Usually I never got caught and the unfamiliar voice startled me. I turned around and literally sighed in relief as I spotted my crush, also known as Calum Hood. But no, my heart beat sped up even more.

He walked towards me and I only bit my lip already tasting the blood in my mouth.
