Based on a movie I haven't watched in years but watched a few nights ago and cried my eyes out. (It's not called 22 years ago btw so don't search it up lol. also not everything is the same)

..................................................

"I'm here to help you." I spoke slowly but the man didn't even flinch. He looked like he was in his mid fifties. He had been stuck in jail for 22 years and no one found out why. This was my first case, and I was going to free this man. I was going to help him. But how could I when all everyone has told me is that this man hasn't spoke in 22 years. "Luke Robert Hemmings." I spoke and he slowly raised his head and glanced at me with empty eyes. I straightened my posture. I had caught his attention. I spoke more and more as I watched him turn his head and look out the window. An airplane flew past and the man who hadn't spoke in 22 years finally spoke. I pulled out my recorder as he talked about the plane that just flew past.

The plane that brought him to his past. The time when he was in the air force.

"It was 3 days before my entire life was going to change. I was on a rescue mission just like any other day."

..........................................

The minute I attached her to my latch and the helicopter lifted us up was when I first saw her eyes. A look of fear was etched on her face as she looked down, the higher we went. Her grip on me grew tighter. That was until she dropped her dumb bag.

"MY BAG!" She yelped. "GET ME DOWN. I NEED MY BAG."

"Ma'am we can't do that sorry." I tried to calm her but she just flailed her arms around and screamed in my ear.

"GIVE ME MY BAG!" she demanded.

"IS IT MORE IMPORTANT THAN SAVING LIVES?" I shot back.

"YES. ACTUALLY IT IS."

I groaned and my mate dangerously lowered us as I fetched her bag. She clutched it to her chest as we were lifted in the air again. The moment we reached our destination I let out my anger on the girl.

"DO YOU KNOW HOW DANGEROUS THAT WAS? DO YOU REALIZE THAT I'M HERE TRYING TO SAVE YOU AND ALL YOU CARE ABOUT IS A DUMB BAG?! HOW STUPID." I turned away before I could go further. She wiped a few stray tears and walked away. About maybe two hours later, she approached me and apologized explaining why she wanted her bag so much. In it. she held her grandmother's ashes who had made a dying wish to spread her ashes in a place that was far from her home. She had to do it.

I accepted her apology and realized she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. I couldn't help myself the next day. She was all alone travelling, I had to help her. I had to make sure she was safe. She gladly accepted my presence.

"I'm Luke. Squadron Leader Luke Robert Hemmings." I held out a hand as we sat on the bus. She smiled widely showing her dimples and shook it.

"I'm Sarah."

When we safely made it to her destination she asked me to come help her scatter the ashes and I hesitantly agreed. I showed her around in this foreign world she had never stepped in. We ate in restaurants she had never eaten in before. We walked in the city and did random shit all day. Until night fell.

"I should leave to go back home. Thanks for making sure I was safe Squadron Leader Luke Robert Hemmings." Sarah smiled at me. I grew sad. We just met. Our story can't just end here. If we already have such a strong bond, how could she leave? So I begged her. I asked her to stay and meet my family back home, I asked her to have fun with me for just one more day.

Of course, how could she not agree?

She fit in perfectly in this foreign world. How could this happen? I had only known her for a little less than 48 hours and she had me spinning and falling. I wanted to let myself go. All I had been doing my whole life is work hard. Maybe it was finally time to find that someone. I began to imagine my future with this girl I had only met a few days ago. So, I told my father.

"Tell her at the train station tomorrow, Luke." he told me. "Bring her back home."

I was going to do it. I was gonna explain my feelings to her tomorrow at the train station. I was going to bring her back home. Maybe we would find a way around.

And my naive self thought it would be that easy.

The next morning I was on my motorcycle as we drove to the train station. Once we reached their we walked and she smiled and told me how much fun she had. I smiled and agreed until she stopped in her tracks and I almost ran into her.

"What's wrong?" I asked her then followed her gaze. A man stood in front of her. He was much taller and muscular than me. He stared back at Sarah.

"Ah Sarah, I was worried about you." a small smile appeared on his face and he grabbed her arm gently pulling her forward. I stared between the two quite confused. Sarah gave him a small smile.

"You're here." she chuckled awkwardly. I continued to stare with a wave confusion. "Oh, I'm sorry Luke I completely forgot to tell you." she noticed my expression finally. "This is my fiancée." she smiled shyly and my mood fell.

"I'm Evan." the man held out his hand and I stared at him then held out my shaky hand shaking it slowly. "Thanks for taking care of Sarah for me." He mumbled awkwardly. "Come on Sarah let's go."

"Wait, you go. I gotta say bye to Luke." she mumbled and he nodded and turned away.

"Sorry," she laughed, "I told you like everything but I forgot to tell you I'm engaged." she stared at the ring in her finger.

"Do you love him?" I questioned her suddenly. She glanced up her smile fading.

"What do you mean?"

"It's a simple question Sarah."

"I-yeah? Luke-"

"You made a big mistake Sarah." I muttered backing away from her.

"What do you mean?!" she pleaded and took a step toward me.

"Big mistake..." I whispered. "Here I thought, that maybe I can finally settle down with someone since I have never even been with anyone in my life. Here I thought that I can just change your mind and bring you back home and we would be happily ever after. Here I thought I could love someone." I barely whispered. There I said it. Sarah stared at me in horror. Tears brimmed her eyes but she blinked them away. She opened her mouth to speak but Evan appeared.

"Sarah, let's go train's here."

"Y-yeah, I was just-just leaving." her eyes didn't leave mine as she turned away and followed her man who she claimed she loved. She thought she did. But even I knew she didn't. I turned away thinking that was the end of it. Best two days of my life that I've had in a while. But now there it goes down the drain. What did I do to deserve this? I was just a simple man who helped people and had a dream of continuing his father's dream of expanding his land.

Little did I know that, this love story was just beginning.

notice the bit of cliché? yeah i haven't written that in a while. part two will be here soonnnn.
