Once upon a time there was a place filled with happiness and laughter. But within that land of joy there lived a sad boy who hid deep in the forest, isolated away from the happy people. It was a boy who craved love, but even with his alarming beautiful features he never got anyone who loved them as much he did. So he had only one choice. It was to take them, steal them, literally.
.......................................................................
Luke walked the streets aimlessly. He was heading to that one bar...what was it called again? Oh well, at least he had friends there. He wished he had actual friends where he could have fun with. Play gigs with, pull pranks with, play sports with. Just have fun. He wish he didn't feel so alone.
It was lightly raining and Luke bent his head low and shoved his hands in his jacket pockets. His tattered shoes splashing in the small puddles. He felt a small drop of rain land on his lip ring. Hah. Perfect aim Mother Nature. He had gotten the silver ring about a year ago and decided he didn't look bad wearing it.
Luke turned a corner then stepped into the small building where he always let himself loose. He liked to dance a lot, it was as if this energy coursed through him. He felt himself slip, it was almost like getting drunk. It's not like he knew some bad ass moves or anything, he just loved blending himself in with the crowd slowly tearing away his clothes until he was only in a loose tee even in the frigid weather. Of course he would drink...but as Luke stepped in tonight, he knew something. He was surely not going to drink tonight. Something was going to happen. Something to snap him.
"What's good Hemmings?" The bartender swiped his wash cloth against the counters and flashed him a toothy grin. "What can I get ya today?"
"Nothing actually." Luke spoke then sat down on one the bar stools. "Have you seen Mikey?"
"Yup, he's hidden in the crowd somewhere with that one pretty lady." The bartender smiled looking out in the crowd. Luke followed his gaze but only saw sweaty people.
"Define that one pretty lady." Luke raised his eyebrows.
"Believe me kid, even you will see her. She's the prettiest woman in town and every man is after her."
"So how did Michael get her?" Luke scoffed. He then realized he couldn't get anywhere near this girl, if he did, bad things could happen...and that hasn't happened in awhile.
"Naw kid, she stole your friend. Lady literally pleaded for him to dance. She stated she had a thing for punk boys like himself." The bartender laughed. Luke frowned and squeezed his hand into a fist. How come Michael could get girls but not him? The bartender laughed. "Easy there, it'll happen you can't just make it happen."
Luke stood and walked away. "Sometimes," he growled to himself, "you gotta make it happen." Luke stormed through the crowd and didn't realize he was actually hurting people as he walked until someone yanked his arm to the side.
"Dude!" A high pitch voice squeaked. "Chill man you're like the hulk!" A sweet laugh escaped bright red lips from below him. She was a little bit taller than his chin and was gripping both his arms. Her eyes were bright with neon lights illuminating off them. Her smile wider than the sun. And the sun was big.
"S-sorry." Luke stuttered. She stared at Luke's lip ring then yelled.
"Wanna dance?" Luke stared at her in surprise. He wished the lights were a bit brighter so he could see her face. A small smile spread his face instantly. His brain told him, 'alert !! a girl!!' and his heart was worse than when he went on rollercoasters.
"Of course I wanna dance!" Luke beamed and let her drag him through the crowd. She led him to the middle of the dance floor then twirled in a circle shaking her hips to the beat. Luke followed her actions and she laughed holding her stomach.
"Show me some good moves big guy!" She yelled and Luke did. He began to do his thing, get loose just spin and forget about being alone. But this time it was way better. This time he had a partner. He couldn't take his eyes off her as she ran her fingers through her hair and shook her head to the beat. Her hair was almost waist length and Luke already figured out that was his favorite thing about her. He stopped dancing for awhile and watched her closely. The girl who's name he still didn't know yet stopped and stared at him too while smiling. She grabbed his hand and led him into a corner.
"You want a drink?!" she yelled in his ear.
"Me?" he pointed to himself confused.
"Yes blondie, sometimes I buy drinks for friends."
"Friends?" Luke felt like the wind was suddenly knocked out of him. Friends? He'd never had one of those.
"Yeah! The ones who are fun always become my friends!" The girl yelled again. Luke just grinned at her then finally broke out of his trance.
"Sorry, uh I never caught your name?"
"Minnie."
"Did you just say Minnie?" Luke spoke up and chuckled at the uncommon name for a girl rather than a mouse.
"Well, my name is actually Julietta but everyone calls me Minnie." She laughed and shook her head.
"Why?" Luke chuckled. His eyes finally adjusted as he noticed her dark red hair. Luke imagined her strawberry blonde and then smiled to himself.
"Because, I had an obsession for the disney character." Minnie shrugged.
"I like Julietta better." Luke flirted.
"Whatever blondie--er what's your name?"
"Luke, I'm Luke."
....................................
Luke found himself deep in the forest in bed the next morning. He woke with a start as soon as the sun hit his eyes. He sat up rubbing the sleep out of them. He felt like he had the best sleep ever in awhile. His thoughts raced connecting the dots as to why he suddenly felt so well rested. Blurry images of the bar raced in his mind. He was dancing again...but not alone.
Minnie.
Wait no, Julietta.
Luke smiled to himself then fell backwards into bed again.
"Julietta." he whispered aloud to himself. Remember when she called them friends? His heart raced, he hadn't felt this way in a very long time. It was different though, this girl had approached him. She wanted to dance with him. Him.
He suddenly felt the urges again. The urge to see her again. How had he already gotten so attached? But she was so pretty. No, he couldn't do this. But...she made him feel alive again.
Alive.
He was going to find her again, he knew so.
Off Luke went, walking the damp streets from last night. Dressed in the usual. Black.
It was night when Luke finally saw her. She was alone actually, her rain boots had high heels that clicked as she almost sprinted across the wet pavement. It was drizzling again. Luke followed her then finally yelled after her.
"Hey!" he yelled. She stopped and turned around and squinted her eyes. "Hey Julietta!" Luke yelled and caught up to her. He smiled and she stared up at him blankly. "Its me, remember last night? The dancing? We're friends remember?" Luke panted hard as he said whatever he can to make her remember him.
"Ah, it's um...Michael right?"
Luke stopped panting and looked up at her in shock.
