December 31st. 2015. It was about 9 pm when my mother shoved me out the door telling me to shovel the heaps of snow before she left for a New Years party. The man who usually shovelled our driveway was away on vacation.

I sighed pulling my beanie on as I slipped on my mittens. 18°. Great. So I started. My muscles were already aching from the day before. I pushed slowly then exhaled loudly. Great. It's become ice.

I heard a loud rumble two houses down as I looked over to see a boy driving a snowblower around. Strange. I expected like no one to be out right now but, guess you have to shovel before you go anywhere. I sighed. If only I had that snowblower but those things were so freaking expensive. I didn't waste anymore time in digging through the heaps again. My back was already starting to kill me. I watched out of the corner of my eye to see the boy finish up in a matter of 20 minutes.

I remembered the family had moved here about a summer ago. They went to my school but were just average. There were two brothers. Both going to my school. They were both very good looking and always had each others back. Though I never bothered to talk to them.

The older brother put the snowblower away as he ran inside then walked out lacing his fingers with a tall blonde. They pecked as he led her to his car. He ruffled his little brothers hair as he told him some stuff I couldn't hear then drove off leaving the boy alone.

I looked away struggling through not even half of the driveway as the younger brother finally looked over and noticed me. He took one look then ran inside as I sighed. My hopes were up for nothing.

But i was wrong when I heard the snowblower start up again. I smiled to myself shyly. It was funny how I still didn't know their names. I was a shy person. I felt the boy's presence come closer as I shivered. He shoveled away the snow on my sidewalk as he walked over to me giving me a small smile.

"Hey can I help you out there?"

He was a bit taller than his older brother. He had a grey beanie pulled over his hair. His blue eyes sparkled as I could see the faint outline of his lipring as he stood a few feet away.

I nodded in relief as he smiled and finished my work for me. After awhile he ran back and put his snowblower away as he ran back shoving his hands in his pockets. I handed him some hot chocolate as I asked him to come in.

"I was actually gonna head off to the party Ashton went to earlier with his girlfriend."

I nodded as he referred to who I assume was his older brother.

"Buuuut I'd rather stay here, I mean it's not like I wanted to hang out with drunk people anyway." he laughed taking a sip of his coffee.

"You don't drink?" I smiled.

He shook his head laughing lightly, "Someone's gotta be sober."

"Why don't you come inside then?"

He nodded as he followed me in. He watched my house in awe as I chuckled lightly.

"My mother has a thing for decorative clocks."

He nodded as his mouth formed into an 'o' shape. He followed me up into my room as I opened it. He smiled brightly noticing the lights filling my room.

"Very christmasy!" he laughed as he nodded over towards the mistleto by my window. I blushed sitting on my bed and switching on my t.v.

"I heard there were some nice artists playing tonight." I nodded towards the t.v. as he sat on my bed crosslegged as he watched.
