Caught Up ~ Lewis Hamilton

Chapter 2

* Game night *

* Omniscient POV *

Lewis Hamilton had invited his closest family and friends for a night of camaraderie and competition. As guests arrived, greeted by the welcoming smiles of Lewis and his family, the air was filled with anticipation for the evening ahead. The expansive living room had been transformed into a gaming haven, with a plethora of board games, card games, and interactive challenges laid out on every surface. Lewis, clad in a relaxed yet stylish ensemble, welcomed his guests with genuine warmth, his megawatt smile lighting up the room. He had catered food from his family's favorite restaurants for the night.

Lewis: " It's your turn."

(Lewis's smile grew as his sister, Nicola, got up, ready for the next round of charades. This was the third game of the night, after a lively game of cards and a competitive round of Monopoly. Lewis's parents, Anthony and Carmen, looked proud of their son's success and the fun they were having with family. Childhood friends, always there through good and bad times, added to the lively atmosphere with their laughter and jokes. Even Lee and Marc, with their spouses, joined in briefly, adding to the fun. Nicola quickly picked a card and started thinking of how to act out the word for her team. As the timer started, she began her performance with energy, using big gestures and expressions to engage everyone. Lewis held up two fingers and shouted his guess with enthusiasm.)

Lewis: " Two words."

(He said, and Nicola nodded in response. As she started acting out the word, showing it was about a movie, her brother Nicholas quickly guessed it before Lewis could.)

Nicolas: " Movie."

Lewis: " Okay two words and it's a movie."

(With every dramatic gesture, Lewis's family burst into laughter and claps, clearly enjoying her performance. Even Lewis, usually calm on the racetrack, got caught up in the fun, cheering for his sister with real excitement. As time ran out, Nicola's teammates eagerly guessed answers, getting more excited with each clue she gave.)

" Pretty."

(Samantha said, leaving everyone puzzled as they tried to decipher how she arrived at "pretty" from Nicola's description.)

Nicola: " Correct."

( She answered as she struck a dramatic pose, her expression a perfect embodiment of the last mystery word.)

" Woman"

( Lee's wife Jane yelled out as Nicola clapped excitedly. Lee and Jane were high school sweethearts. They met when he was a senior and she was a sophomore and have been inseparable since.)

Nicola: " Correct. It was Pretty Woman."

Samantha: " I love that movie."

Nicola: " It's such a classic. I thought it would be a lot harder to figure out, but I guess not."

Samantha: " You're up Lee."

(She said, settling between Lewis and their mother, Carmen. The games continued throughout the evening, bringing lots of laughter and fun. They played everything from "Trivia Pursuit" to "Heads Up," enjoying their time together. When it was time for "Truth or Dare," Marc took the chance to bring up the offer for Lewis to be the next bachelor. As Samantha got up to grab a snack, the others gathered around with plates of sandwiches, tacos, and onion fries, looking forward to the conversation.)
