* Lewis POV *
The family and I had just finished watching episode 1 of The Bachelorette. My friends had already left. It was just my family; Marc, Stephanie, Lee & Jane left. After watching the first episode, I started getting nervous for some reason. I couldn't believe that I agreed to this. Charity was doing an amazing job. She's the true definition of beauty and grace. It was interesting to see how much the guys already adored her because of her wit and fun personality. We had just started episode 2 as I was going over the questionnaire that I had my sister fill out for me. Some of the questions had me laughing while I appreciated the others. My sisters knew me better than anyone else, so I'm not surprised that they did such a great job answering them. I even had an opportunity to go over the questions that the contestants were being asked and those seemed to be a lot more interesting than the ones I was being asked. The contestants were asked if they've ever been married and if they have any children. I haven't dated anyone with kids, but I'm not opposed to it, so I made sure to make a note of that in the paper. I thought asking someone their weight wasn't a good look at all. I can't believe dating based on weight is a thing, especially in 2024. I'm happy that they asked for their social media information though, because with their socials they're able to see what they're all about.
Carmen: " What are you reading?"
(As I got lost in my thoughts, my mom's voice snapped me back to reality. I told her about the odd questions asked to the contestants, and she laughed, saying it was part of the process. While I found questions about past sexual partners invasive, I agreed that asking about living together and previous relationships made sense. Understanding the reasons for past breakups and uncovering hidden secrets, especially considering my public life, also seemed reasonable. The question about being open to non-monogamous relationships caught my attention and made me think. I couldn't imagine being in such a relationship and hoped others felt the same. The question about parental relationships was comforting, as it gave us something relatable to discuss, considering the strong bond between my parents.)
Lewis: "Double-sided coin got the first date."
Carmen: " He did. Look at his smile. He seems so happy."
Lewis: " Who wouldn't be? Charity seems like everyone's dream girl."
Anthony: " Look at you lusting after a black queen."
(My Dad laughed causing me to roll my eyes. Black is beautiful. What can I say?)
Nicola: " I'm calling it now. Lewis will fall in love with a beautiful black woman."
