* Lewis POV *

Today is my first Valentine's Day with Lauren, and I wanted it to be perfect. I arrived at our Airbnb early to create a romantic atmosphere that she would love. Once inside, I got to work, imagining the surprise on her face when she saw everything.  I started with the living room, hanging heart-shaped balloons and evenly spacing them around the room. Next, I scattered rose petals on the floor and table, creating a fragrant path to our dining area. The sweet smell of roses filled the air, mixing with the delicious scents from the kitchen. I had a breakfast menu planned that I knew Lauren would enjoy. I flipped the pancakes to get them golden-brown while cooking eggs and bacon, making sure everything was ready to serve hot. Balancing the decorating and cooking was tricky, but I wanted every detail to show how much she meant to me. With the decorations up and the table set, I lit a candle for a soft, romantic glow.

Lewis: This is going to be perfect."

(I glanced at my watch to check the time, making sure I had enough to wrap the gifts I picked out for Lauren. Time management was key today; I wanted everything to be just right. As I started wrapping, I smiled at the cute scarf and elegant necklace I had chosen for her. They were small tokens of my love, but I hoped they'd make her feel special. "If it were up to me, we'd be on vacation right now, lounging on a sunny beach and being pampered," I thought, grinning at the idea. That sparked a plan for next year's Valentine's Day, imagining us in a beautiful, exotic location. But for now, our little Airbnb would be our sanctuary, and I was determined to make it memorable. Once the gifts were wrapped and adorned with ribbons, I lost myself in thoughts about the day ahead. I was pulled back to reality by a familiar text notification. Wiping my hands, I picked up my phone and saw a message from Lauren—she had just arrived and was on her way in. I quickly did a final check of everything to ensure it was perfect.)

Lauren's Text: "Just got here! I'm coming in
now! ❤️"

(As I adjusted the candle's placement once more, ensuring the table looked perfect, I heard the faint sound of the door opening.)

Lewis: "Happy Valentine's Day, my love!"

(I watched her grin widen as she approached. Unable to contain my excitement, I pulled her into a warm embrace and kissed her deeply. In that moment, the world faded away, and I lost track of time. Finally, I broke the kiss, and we sighed, filled with both contentment and longing.)

Lauren: "Happy Valentine's Day, L."

Lewis: "Come on, I've got breakfast ready for us."
