I arrived at the CBS studio early for my interview with Gayle King. Although I usually enjoyed mornings, a 6 a.m. interview felt too early. I took a sip of coffee to wake myself up when Gayle's assistant called for me, signaling the beginning of an eventful day.
Gayle King: "Lewis, it's always a pleasure to see you."
Lewis: "The pleasure is all mine."
Gayle King: "Have a seat."
Cameraman: " We're live in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...."
Gayle King: "Lewis, it's great to have you here today. Let's dive right in. You recently announced your partnership with Celsius. Can you tell us a bit about what drew you to the brand?"
Lewis: "Thank you, Gayle. It's a pleasure to be here. Well, Celsius is all about promoting a healthy, active lifestyle, which aligns perfectly with my values. Plus, I've had the opportunity to meet the incredible team behind the brand, and their passion and dedication spoke to me. Just yesterday, I had a fantastic photoshoot for Celsius, and I'm truly excited to be a part of such an amazing company."
Gayle King: "That sounds fantastic. Now, let's talk about your recent win at the race. How were you feeling going into it?"
Lewis: "Honestly, Gayle, there's always a mix of excitement and nerves before a race. I knew I had put in the hard work and preparation, but you never really know what to expect until you're out there on the track."
Gayle King: "And how are you feeling now after securing that victory?"
Lewis: "Ecstatic, Gayle. Winning never gets old, and it's always such a rush to see all that hard work pay off."
Gayle King: "I can imagine. Now, on a lighter note, what have you been up to during your break away from racing?"
Lewis: "Oh, you know, just spending some quality time with my family and embarking on a little adventure here and there."
Gayle King: "I've heard all about that little adventure. Congratulations on being the new bachelor, by the way. How has that experience been for you so far?"
Lewis: "Thank you, Gayle. It's been an interesting journey, to say the least. Meeting all those incredible women and forming connections has been both exciting and challenging."
