(There are quite a lot of time skips in my book. The epilogue takes place in 2025, and the sequel covers both 2025 and 2026, so I hope it doesn't confuse anyone too much. Enjoy this filler chapter!)

* Carmen POV *

It was my birthday, and I was getting ready to go out for dinner with my family. After a relaxing spa day with some of my favorite ladies, I had brunch with Nicolas, Lewis, and Anthony. I felt so lucky to have such an amazing day surrounded by the people I love. I had talked to Lauren earlier, and we've become really close in a short time. I could see how happy she made Lewis, and that's what mattered most. She gets along well with everyone, and we all understand why Lewis loves her as much as he did. As I walked downstairs in my favorite dress, I felt so thankful. Birthdays have always been special, but this one felt more meaningful—like I appreciated it more. My family means everything to me, and being together tonight fills my heart with joy. Anthony was already by the door, looking sharp and waiting for me with a warm smile.

Anthony: "You look beautiful, my love."

Carmen: "Thanks, handsome. I'm excited for tonight."

(As we were getting ready to leave, Lewis, Nicolas, and the girls arrived—dressed up and full of energy.)

Nicola: "Mum, you look stunning! That dress is everything."

Samantha: "You're glowing, Mom. I guess our spa day did the trick.

Carmen: "It was a perfect day. I'm so glad we got to spend time together, and brunch with you guys was the cherry on top.

(Lewis hugged me, his usual big smile on his face.)

Lewis: "You deserve all of it, Mom. I can't wait for dinner."

Carmen: "I've been looking forward to this all day. Let's go before we're late."

(The ride to the restaurant was full of laughter and catching up. I love these times when it's just us, no distractions, just family. When we arrived, the restaurant had a warm yet classy feel, perfect for the night. We sat at a big round table, and everyone found their seat easily. As we settled in and started ordering, the conversation naturally turned to what was going on in everyone's lives. Of course, Lauren came up—Lewis is so head over heels for her, we couldn't help but talk about it.)

Nicola: "So, Mom, be honest—how much do you really like Lauren?"

(Nicola said, making me smile as I leaned in a little. I was just glad my son was happy. I've never seen him this happy in a relationship, and that means the most to me.)

Carmen: "I adore her. I can't believe I didn't choose her."

Anthony: " Well I did."

Carmen: " I know. I really should've listened to you guys."

Samantha: " You should've."

Lewis: " I still can't believe you guys picked a top 5."

Nicola: " It only made sense."

Carmen: " "Lauren seems so genuine and caring, and the way Lewis lights up whenever he talks about her is everything I've ever wanted for him."
