Two Months Later ( Wednesday, December 25, 2024)

* Omniscient POV *

It was Christmas Day, and even though it was their first one as a couple, Lauren and Lewis weren't in the best spirits. They had to spend it apart—Lewis with his family, and Lauren with hers. By now, it was 2 p.m. Lewis and his family had decided to keep things simple this year by getting all their favorite dishes catered, while Lauren was in the kitchen helping her family prepare dinner from scratch. She set her phone on the counter, with Lewis watching her every move on FaceTime. Lauren's mom thought their relationship was the sweetest thing. She admired how deeply in love Lewis was with her daughter. It was all she ever wanted for Lauren—someone who loved her unconditionally. And with Lewis, it was clear as day how much he cared for her.
As Lauren, her mom, and her sister cooked together, Lewis sat there, amazed by how smoothly everything went. If it had been his family, the kitchen would've been chaotic and overcrowded. But Lauren's family had a calm, organized rhythm, and Lewis found himself more captivated by her with each passing moment.

Lauren: "So, your promo tour begins tomorrow. How are you feeling?"

Lewis: " I'm excited to start promoting the show because of how everything turned out. I had a great time filming it, so I hope that's shown every week."

Lauren: " I'm calling it now. You're going to be everyone's favorite bachelor."

Lewis: "That's sweet."

Lauren: " I know I'm biased, but I think everyone will be very surprised at how well you handled everything. You did great, babe."

Lewis: "Thanks, my love."

Lauren: "I also can't wait to watch those interviews. I'm mostly excited for the fits."

Lewis: "You're only excited because you helped me pick out a few of them."

Lauren: "That's partly true. I also think you make everything look good, so I'm excited to see those looks come to life."

Lewis: "That's sweet."

Lauren: "It's true."

Lewis: " I just can't believe it's almost time for the season to start."

(He said as Lauren nodded in agreement.)

Lauren: "Where did the time go? It feels like we just filmed the show, but that was a while ago."

Lewis: "I know, right? It's crazy to think that we met almost  seven months ago."

Layla: " Wow. It's been that long?"

Lauren: " I can't believe it either."

Layla: " And you guys have been engaged for 4 months, right?"

Lewis: " That's right. Today is the 25th, so we got engaged exactly 4 months ago."

Lauren: " August 25. Time is not playing around. Happy four-month anniversary Mr. Hamilton."

Lewis: " Happy four-month anniversary, my love."
