The day after the second episode aired brought mixed reactions. Many people were understandably upset about Lauren H.'s behavior. While I was disappointed, I hoped no one was sending her hate or threats. I know how toxic social media can be, which is why I usually only use it to post photos and then log off. Sitting comfortably on my couch, I set up my phone for an Instagram Live . As I went live, the screen quickly filled with comments and questions about the episode.
(After last night's episode, I wanted to check on Lauren. I couldn't imagine how tough it must have been for her to watch that moment with her family and friends. She had mentioned that her parents were disappointed in me but reassured me they would be fine and get over it. That didn't ease my feelings at all. I had grown to care for her family, and knowing I had let them down hurt deeply. I quickly sent Lauren a message saying, "I love you," before diving into the questions. I hoped that answering the fans' questions would help clarify things and maybe assist me in processing everything that had happened.)
1. What was your favorite moment from episode 2?
Lewis: "I'd have to say my favorite moment was the alone time I had with Lauren during the group date. I didn't expect her to open up as much as she did, but I was incredibly happy that she felt safe enough to share such personal aspects of her life with me. Seeing that vulnerable side of her was truly special. It allowed me to understand her on a deeper level and appreciate the trust she was placing in me. Her willingness to be so open and honest made the connection between us even stronger."
2. How did you feel when Lauren H. lied about Lauren J.?
Lewis: "It was tough. I didn't want to believe it, but it's hard when you're in that environment. I was beyond disappointed in myself watching it last night with my friends and family."
3. Do you regret confronting Lauren J. about the lie?
Lewis: "Yes, I do. I should have trusted her more."
4. What was the hardest part about the group dates?"
Lewis: " Trying to give everyone enough attention and getting to know each woman in such a short time."
5. Which wedding dress was your favorite?
Lewis: "My future wife's."
