* Lauren POV *
Seated at the breakfast table in our luxurious hotel suite, Lewis and I were engrossed in our phones, each of us responding to the flood of messages from our families. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and warm pastries filled the air, but our attention was firmly on the screens before us. It was our last day at the hotel, and both our families were particularly eager to check in and hear about our plans. The excitement and curiosity from our loved ones made my heart smile knowing that we had such an amazing support system in our corner.
Lewis: "My mom is so excited for me to get home."
(Lewis said, glancing up from his phone with a smile. I've heard stories about his relationship with his mom and it's been between beautiful to hear. I admire their bond so much.)
Lauren: " I bet. She seemed sweet when I met her."
Lewis: " She is. I can't wait for you guys to meet and be able to talk some more. That meeting didn't do the both of you any justice."
Lauren: " That was a pretty short time for us to get to know each other."
Lewis: " It was but I wouldn't change a thing."
Lauren: " Me too. Do you think they'll be surprised about who you picked?"
(I asked just out of curiosity because I didn't know how well the family meeting went with Madina.)
Lewis: " I don't think so, because they all said thar I made the most sense with you."
Lauren: " Really? What did they notice?"
Lewis: " They said I was more comfortable around you and that there was more of a spark between us than they've ever seen in me with anyone I've been with."
( He explained as my heart smiled a little. That was beautiful to hear that they saw something in Lewis that they'd never seen before during his prior relationships.)
Lauren: " That's beautiful to hear because I was so nervous that day."
Lewis: " I was too because I really wanted them to like you, and they did, so mission accomplished."
Lauren: " You're cute."
( I said causing the biggest smile to form on his face. He was and he knows it but is very humble about it. My man was fine as hell, and I was beyond nervous about not being able to be around him during his races. He has a lot of fans who are particularly ladies, so it was something that I've thought about. I do trust Lewis with my whole heart, so I know he'd never mess up what we're building but it's the women that I don't trust. After finishing our breakfast, we moved to the couch, ready to tackle the next task of the day: taking out my braids. Lewis had offered to help, and I was eager to get started.)
