Chapter 7

Week 5 of The Bachelorette

* Omniscient POV *

It was Saturday evening and Lewis, and his family were getting ready for more episodes of The Bachelorette. They had just had dinner and were eating dessert on the couch. As Nicola pressed play on episode 5, they all relaxed on the couch with their feet kicked up. It was now 5 pm so they were hoping that they'd be able to watch most of the episodes left. This was the most they've ever watched television, and it was reality television at that. They were all surprised at how fascinated they were by The Bachelorette. Usually, after an episode or two Lewis would've moved on to something new. The only thing on television that his parents watched was the news so this was a new lane for them. A lane that they've now started to enjoy knowing that this will be Lewis in a few months. Earlier today Lewis' contract was faxed to the execs along with his questionnaires and suggestions for his season. Knowing that it was all final made it even more real for him. He was beyond nervous but was filled with so much gratitude. In a few weeks, he'll be off to complete his photoshoot and package for the show and then a week later he's off to film. Before filming starts, he'll be off on a promo run after his announcement on GMA. He had a busy next few weeks that he was looking forward to.

Nicola: " Oh, they're in New Orleans."

Lewis: " I love New Orleans. They have the best food."

Nicola: "They do."

Carmen: "Of course, Aaron has lived in New Orleans for 7 years. I hope he doesn't get the date."

Nicola: "Damn. We don't like Mr. One-Sided Coin anymore?"

Carmen: "I'm just over all the nagging. He annoyed me when he kept arguing with the fake nurse in the last episode."

(She laughed as Nicola cheered when Charity invited Joey on the date instead of Aaron. They all really like Joey so they were very excited to see more of him on their television.)

Nicolas: " Joey and Charity are practically the same height."

Samantha: " They are. Is Aunt Tanya still napping?"

Lewis: " Yes"

Samantha: " Okay good. I just brought her car back."

Lewis: " Why didn't you borrow mine?"

Samantha: " Because hers is more comfortable. Your cars are made for men. I don't know how you're gonna manage when you have kids."

Lewis: " I'll just have to get something that accommodates my girl and my kids when that time comes."

Samantha: " Got it. Just making sure."

Nicola: " I saw online that the casting for your season started. They described you as a handsome guy who's 39 and searching for the love of his life. He has a great career, an amazing family and just looking for someone to complete him."

Carmen: " That's sweet. I can't wait to see the women that they find for you to date."

Lewis: " Color me surprised."
