After a few busy meetings, I came home to the comfort of family. My siblings were in the kitchen making lunch—a classic family favorite: grilled steak with garlic mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. It was a meal that always brought us together. Meanwhile, my parents and I relaxed in the living room, watching our usual Law & Order: SVU marathon. We loved discussing every episode's twists and character moments. On the drive home, I did a quick Q&A on social media, answering fan questions about the latest episode, which made for a lively chat. When lunch was ready, Nicholas set the plates on the table, and we all gathered, ready to dig in. I was starving.
Lewis: " Thanks for lunch, guys. This looks amazing."
Nicola: "You're welcome, Lewis. Dig in, everyone!"
Samantha: "So, what episode just ended?"
Carmen: " The one with Uncle Jesse."
Samantha: "Oh, that's a good one."
Nicola: "That's one of my favorite episodes."
Lewis: "Mine too."
(I said, thoroughly enjoying each bite of the steak and potatoes. It had been a while since I'd had a meal like this, and it reminded me of why I loved it so much. The tender steak, full of flavor, and the rich, creamy potatoes were a perfect match. I can't wait to start making meals like this for Lauren, sharing one of my favorite things with her.
