* Lewis POV *
"The new Bachelor is here, you guys, and it's someone we love and adore! We finally got our first celebrity Bachelor, and I can't wait to watch his season. Everyone, give it up for Lewis Hamilton!"
(She said as the audience's cheers intensified. I was on another day of pre-show press for my season. Earlier I spoke with Us weekly over Zoom and now I have an interview with the one and only Kelly Clarkson.)
Lewis: " Thank you guys so much for the love."
Kelly Clarkson: " Just look at him. Those are some lucky ladies. Aren't they?
(She asked as the cheers started again which only made me laugh. Another great live audience, I thought.)
Lewis: " I'm the lucky one but thank you so much. I'm so honored to be here as a fan of yours."
Kelly Clarkson: " Thank you. As a fan of yours, I'm excited for your season. What made you want to be the bachelor?"
Lewis: " It was never a goal for me until it was offered to me a month ago. It just came down to the experience for me. I knew that the experience was going to be a once in a lifetime and I just wanted to try something different when it came to dating."
Kelly Clarkson: " I get that. You're 39? Am I correct?"
Lewis: " I am 39"
Kelly Clarkson: " Which means you're also the oldest bachelor which is pretty awesome."
Lewis: " I think so too. I think with age comes lots of knowledge and I think the person that I was in my 20s dating is so different from who I am now. The things I tolerated back then I no longer have time for."
Kelly Clarkson: " I love that. How did your family react to the news?"
Lewis: " They were pretty confused at first because they thought that my manager was joking when he first told me because he told me during a game of truth or dare."
(I explained as Kelly and the audience chuckled.)
Kelly Clarkson: " I would've thought it was a joke also."
Lewis: " Yes so it took us a moment to process it but when we did, they were so happy for me."
