Chapter 6

Pihu POV

I looked at the intense conversation mom and tatha was having and realized next few days are going to get a bit awkward and heated. I saw mom came down the stairs and pasted a plastic smile on her face

Mom: Pihu, are you done with your assignment ?

I nodded and went inside while she followed me to look at the assignment. Her eyes twinkled when she looked at my work, which means I have done a good job.

Mom: Pihu, this is amazing. You did great dear. 

She pulled me into a hug and I let her. I know she needs this hug so I held her tight even though she was about to let go. Ofcourse, she was surprised but she hugged me back, breathing in my scent. She says I have this baby smell reminding her of when I was an infant. 

Me: Mom, you must be tired. Please go and change, this Saari you wore looks uncomfortable.

She nodded and went inside her bedroom, latching it from inside. I know she needs to get her alone me time now, so I let her be. I asked Laksmi to set a plates for all of us and she did. I was waiting for her to come out but I guess she needed a cry.

Tatha walked in and sat down in front of me. He looked annoyed and rattled

Me: Tatha you could have given her a warning 

Tatha: Ofcourse, you are on her side 

Me: I am always on my mom's side. Secretly making her profile without her knowledge was not good

Tatha: Hey, you knew I made that profile

Me: I saw you making that profile and asked you about it. But, it does not mean I agreed with your act

Tatha: Then should I just give up ?

Me: For now, yes. I think this arranged marraige meetings are so old school. If mom needs to meet her prince then she got a meet him by destiny, she got to fall in love. Like in those fairy tales.

Tatha: Fall in love ?

Me: Yeah, like Cinderalla and her prince, beauty and the beast etc

Tatha: Hmm 

Me: What is running in your mind ?

Tatha: On how to make a fairy tale happen. I am going for a drive, need to think of new ideas.

Me: Good luck 

He left and after about 20 mins mom came. She was showered and changed into her comfy cotton clothes. She looked cute but her eyes were red. Oh mom, I cannot see you like this.

I went and hugged her, pulling her to the dining table. Her mood seems to be changing, now that I started blabbering about silly stuff. She smiled too, twice. My mom is the cutest. She wanted to put me to sleep but I told her I will read a book today and go to sleep, for which she just nodded and went to her room. 

After 20 mins, I checked in on her. Her door was open, she was sound asleep. I walked to the prayer room and sat in front of the idols.

Me: God, my mom is a super woman. She is the best but she is sad, cant she be happy for once ? Tatha is going into that boring arranged marraige business but I think she needs a kickass love story. What do you think ? Please use your magic and make a miracle happen naa .. please ..If her love story happens I will give up gulping down those chocolates secretly, deal ?

I came out and today I dont know why I wanted to sleep with my mom. I crawled up on her bed and slept beside her hugging her, kissing her forehead

Mom: Pihu ..

Me: Sleep mom, I am sleeping with you today 

She smiled and took me into her arms. She squished me actually but I dont really care. I love my mom. I hugged her back, wrapping my hand and leg on her, falling asleep right after taking in the motherly warmth.
