Chapter 16

Raghav POV

I woke up with the conductor shouting that we have reached our desination. I looked around at people slowly walking towards the exit and then turned to look at Lehar then I realized the sweet weight on my shoulder.

Lehar was sleeping away on my shoulder, snaking her arm on mine. I felt a strange happiness and anger building inside of me. Happiness because the women of my dreams has trusted me enough to hold me close and anger because I missed it while sleeping like a dimwit.

My hands had its own mind and they cupped her cheek. I wanted to wake her up but I also wanted to enjoy this but the driver and the constable yelled again and this time she woke up startled and realized what she did 

I did not want her to ever say or feel sorry for that, so I diverted her 

Me: Our stop is here, lets go ?

She nodded, we collected her stuff and started towards the market which is famous for selling all sorts of books. Lehar is a smart organized women, she has made a list of everything she wanted. We went around all the shops there, trying to find a shop giving us all the books we needed with a good discount. 

We asked them to pack and keep it, so that once we finish our lunch we could come back and get it before the next bus. Once we left our instructions we walked towards the famous lunch point. We got our seats but owing to the weekend it was crowded more than usual.

We got a corner most seat and had to sit side by side while there was an another couple who sat in front of us

Me: Sorry, I heard this place was famous but did not expect so much crowd. You are comfortable right?

She looked at me with a smile and nodded. I was relieved to find that she was loving the food but for me this was a different experience. Seated beside her, taking in her floral perfume and getting an opportunity to be seated beside my crush or is it just crush now? Anyways, this was bliss.

Lehar: Oh my god this thali is amazing the play of all the flavors in this plate is top notch

Her face held a awe for this food 

Me: Glad, you like it 

For a few seconds we stared at each other, completely mesmerized by each other after which she cleared the throat and looked away. I shrugged away from my mental fantasies and continued having my food. After getting the packed box of books we started off to get our bus back.

There was a strange excitement budding inside of me. The anticipation of being that close to her filled me with upbeat energy. We kept the box on the storage space above and got seated in our seats

Me: Lehar?

Lehar: Hmm ?

Me: I really would not mind if you lay down on my shoulder on the way back too

Her face turned crimson and she turned her head, looking outside while I giggled at her reaction. She turned back towards me and glared 

Lehar: For your kind information, it was you who lay your head on my shoulder so you started it 

Me: Oh ? So, you were comfortable with me being close to you ?

I said that looking into her eyes and she looked shocked at my question

Lehar: Ofcourse I was uncomfortable ..

Me: Really ? Then why didnt you push me away 

Lehar: This time when you do that I will push you enough so that you fall off your seat

Me: So, either way you are looking forward to me laying on your shoulder again ?

Lehar: You ...

I quickly cupped her cheek in mine and she was startled but did not push me away. I held her face in my palms and looked into her eyes 

Me: Lehar 

Lehar: Hmm ?

Me: Can I tell you something ?

Lehar: What ?

I got more closer to her and she closed her eyes. I felt myself smiling looking at her reaction.

Me: Lehar, I wanted to say that

Lehar: What did you want to say ?

Her eyes were still closed, oh how I wish I could kiss her soft lips right now. But, I gotta divert my mind.

Me: Your nose becomes crimson red whenever you are annoyed with someone

I started giggling like a fool at that and she glared at me 

Me: See, that is exactly what I was talking about .. Hehe

She was annoyed I could see that she held my collar in her's pulling me towards her and I gulped. I knew I was in trouble when I looked at her expression. I closed my eyes in fright and started the Ram  Ji Jaap 

She started giggling now 

Lehar: And you looked like a coward fearing that I might punch you

She left my shirt and fixed my collar. She took out a book and got busy with that. Lehar's dad told me a while ago on how she was the dare devil and when she was young no one could mess with her. I am both flattered and scared to see that aggresive side of her.

After reading a couple of pages Lehar slowly drifted off to sleep but what made me most happy was that she lay her head on my shoulder and slept off. When we reached our destination I softly called her name

Me: Lehar ?

Lehar: Are you going to make fun of me again?

Me: I would not dare but 

She glared at me 

Me: I am just saying my shoulder is always free for you. It could be to just lay down when you have a tiring day or it could be a shoulder to cry on or it could be a shoulder which supports you whenever you need it

Saying that I was walking away when I heard her voice 

Lehar: Why ? Why do you want to be there for me?

Me: Hell, its obvious isnt it ?

She folded her hands in front of her and looked at me

Lehar: What is obvious ?

I ran my hands in my hair and pulled her close to me. She looked startled now. 

Me: So, listen, I feel this desperate need to always be close to you 24*7.Lehar, I am immensely into you and would like to go out with you. 

She was looking at me in daze, I took her face in my hands and  trailed slow kisses from her brows to the side of her lips. I was about to continue with whatever I was doing until she pushed me away and started walking away from me.

I held her hand to stop her, she turned to look at me, she took a deep breathe with a poker face and looked at our interwined hands. I let her hand go and she walked backwards running away from me. What happened to me back there ? Why didnt I resist the temptation to shower those kisses.

Did I make her uncomfortable ? 

I deserve a kick in the back
