Chapter 14

Lehar POV

I was sitting  going over all those moments which happened between me and Raghav. The way he protected me in his own way in the auto. The way he understood me in the carnival. The way he challenged me to do the things which benefit me and finally the way he makes this little butterflies erupt in my stomach whenever I am close to him.

How I am I getting close to him ?

Why I am I trusting him even after my own set of insecurities ?

Why does he make my heart beat faster ?

I slapped myself mentally and got back to my studies. The online classes has begun and I have been busy in the evenings trying to finish the course work and get my assignments done. I finished making notes for the chapter until I heard the doorbell ring.

I looked at the time and realized who could that be. I opened the door trying to mask my excitement but once I opened it when I looked at him there was a strange feeling brewing inside of me. He was freshly showered wearing his casual clothes, his face glowing with the moon light. I took a startled breathe looking at him.

He was damn gorgeous. He was a hard working, kind and handsome man. Any girl would love to have him. Wait, he is a single guy with no responsibilities who is a catch, he might have a girl in his life. That got me out of day dream and I moved away from the door, controlling my awe.

I guess he was confused about the sudden change in my behaviour

Raghav: Are you alright ?

Me: Yeah, what can happen to me ?

Raghav: Okay, still studying ?

Me: Yeah, its a very important chapter 

He kept silent after that serving and eating his food while I zoned out, biting my lips thinking about if he has a girl on a side

Raghav: Lehar ? Are you okay ?

Me: Yeah, why ?

Raghav: You were staring off into a space and looked worried

Okay I need to cover it up

Me: I need some extra material for my course, I need to go to this special book store which is 2 hours away so, I was wondering when to go and how

Good save Lehar 

Raghav: Okay, weekend is coming. Lets go on the weekend and buy whatever you would want. Anyways we have delegated the tasks for your cloud business hiring extra workers, so we can go by 10 am and return by afternoon

Me: Raghav, you dont have to do that. Its weekend, you dont have to spend your time with a boring old me. Go out, take your girl friend out, enjoy. Just because I am your land lord you dont have to be at every beck and call

Raghav was seated beside me and when I said that he stopped eating and looked intensely at me. 

Raghav: Point number one, I dont want to help you out because of some respect or obligation, I do that because I like doing that. I like spending time with you Lehar and I would rather spend my free time with you having real meaningful conversations than going out to a noisy club. Lastly, I do not have a girl friend.

I took a deep breathe in because of two reasons one being he does not have a girlfriend. Next being, the intensity with which he told me he likes me blew my mind. We both kept looking at each other but the fact that he was single made a smile appear on my face.

Raghav: So, tell me something, is this smile the result of knowing that I am single or is it because I like you 

Me: I ... come on, I was just smiling. Is there a penality for smiling now ? You said I should smile more 

Raghav: When did I say that ?

He never said that, oh fish 

Me: Right, you dint say that but you ...

Raghav: Lehar ?

He put his hand on top of mine and I closed my eyes feeling the comforting and intimate gesture. 

Raghav: Lehar, I dint say that yet but you do look much more gorgeous smiling

I slowly opened my eyes and looked into his. They were looking at me with amusement. Right when I was running out of thoughts, Pihu came into the room yawning.

Pihu: Maa 

I went and carried her in my arms and got seated into the chair beside Raghav

Me: What happened sweetie

Pihu: My sleep broke 

Me: Okay, stay here until you fall back asleep okay ?

I hugged her close to me and patted her back singing a song she likes softly. I showered a few forehead kisses and enjoyed the suprise cuddle time with my daughter. I suddenly realized may be he would not like the interruption, may be he was annoyed but when I opened my eyes and looked at him, he was looking at us with a dimpled smile on his face, his hand underneath his chin.

Me: What ?

Raghav: Now I miss my mom ? Wish I could get a hug too .. anyways I need to go. You should sleep

I nodded

I carried Pihu in my arms and went behind him to close the door but I dint want him to leave

Me: Raghav ?

He stopped and turned back

Raghav: Yeah ?

Me: We can start by 10 am on Saturday 

He smiled and nodded. He bent down to kiss Pihu's forehead and looked at me with his cocoa brown eyes.

Raghav: Good night 

Me: Good night
