Chapter 28

Lehar POV

We both patched up after taking our sweet revenge. Raghav planned to work from home today and we both were idle. Dad said he will come back home early to speak something important. We agreed and hence decided to take a break. 

Raghav was seated on the couch with his back to the hand rest while I laid close to him on his chest listening to his heart beat. His laptop was close to us on the coffee table, whenever he gets some time in between he spends with me, and when he is busy I finish the certifications I plan to do.

Now we were both having some free time

Raghav kissed me on my neck and put his arms around me

Raghav: Listen, when can we start our married life ? Its torture being away from you.

Me: Who stopped you ? Its easy right organizing a wedding ?

I gave him a mocking grin and rolled my eyes 

Raghav: Come on, cant we elope ?

Me: You really want to do that ? Elope and get married ?

Raghav: Naah, I want to have a proper wedding with rituals with your dad and Pihu 

Saying that he kissed my cheek

Me: Then wait until my dad fixes a date until then ..

Turning to look at him, I held his chin in my hand and shook it playfully 

Me: You gotta wait my fiancee ..

Raghav: You are cute, but this waiting is fun. Spending time with you is amazing, the sweet stolen moments

Me: Raghav, do you think your aunt will come around, she is your guardian

Raghav: Nope, she can be mean and I dont want to be in eye of her wrath 

Me: Do you have any friends ? Family friends ?

Raghav: Well, after my parents death, my mom's brother and his family took care of me. I was too young, they paid for my education abroad  even though my mom angered them by getting married to some body outside their status and cast. My mom's younger brother went against his dad to help me. I am forever grateful to them.

Me: So you dont meet them ?

Raghav: I am grateful to them but I dont agree to their values and idealogies. I like my uncle though. 

Me: Then you gotta invite him and meet him ..

Raghav: He did his duty but I dont think he would want me there. I am an outcast in the end 

Me: Raghav .. 

The doorbell rang and I went to open it while my dad stood with a smile on his face

Dad: Great you both are here, I have good news you guys

Raghav got straightened up on seeing dad and I sat beside Raghav with a smile on my face. My dad looks so much more happier and younger.

Me: What is it dad ?

Dad: I spoke to the astrologer and he gave me the auspicious dates to start your wedding preparations. In a week we can start preparing for organizing the rituals and event. Then your wedding date is 4 weeks away ..

Me: Dad .. 4 weeks ?

Dad: Yes, you dont worry okay? All your mom's cousin's will help and why do you think I save so much by working non stop ? Its for your wedding which I dreamed about since you were young. Dont worry, you worry about being a gorgeous bride while I will worry about your wedding

Me: dad, promise me something. It will just be immediate family and it would be traditional, in line with our roots. No extravagant expenses or else I will elope with him and marry 

Dad looked horrified

Dad: Fine, no extravagant rituals but Lehar your wedding dresses and accessories whatever you want it will be on me. There it will be on me and you will be wearing the best okay ?

Me: But dad ...

Dad: Please sweet heart, let this dad do this for his daughter ?

I nodded getting emotional while Raghav snaked an arm around my waist 

Raghav: May I say something ?

Dad: Yes 

Raghav: You know how I am dying to make her my bride right?

Dad chuckled and nodded 

Raghav: So, please accept it as sincere request. For making her mine this quick I want to contribute towards the wedding preparations. Namely the event ...

Dad: But the girls's dad do that 

Raghav: No, times changed. I will pay for the event. You can pay for her dresses and accessories.

Me: Guys, what about me ? What will I be spending all my hard earned money on ?

Dad: Lehar, you just relax 

Raghav: Listen to me and save it babes. Use it on an uncertain day okay ?

These people seriously ..

Me: Fine, but you will not tire yourself out okay ?

Dad: Okay, now we have lots to do. I will tell the temple priest to organize a prayer for smooth flow of rituals and a small charity meal for homeless

Me: Good idea dad 

Dad: So happy for both of you .. bye 

Raghav pulled me to himself and nuzzled his nose to mine 

Raghav: Ready to be my bride ?

Me: Ofcourse, you ?

He put my hand on his heart and I could feel his quick heart beat 

Raghav: Can you feel that ?

Me: Yes

Raghav: Its all because of you. The thought of having you with me is driving me crazy.

Me: I love you Raghav 

He pulled me for a kiss, taking my lips in his and then put his forehead to mine

Raghav: I love you too

I hugged him overwhelmed with emotions and he hid me in his arms
