"Why is your novel in the historical-fiction genre?" The first thing that came to my mind was my love for the historical culture, places, and events of the Philippines. I find them fascinating. I spent hours, and even days, gathering information for my novel to establish its context.  I love the words 'history' or 'vintage', not only because I love the color brown, but also because I adore the feeling of nostalgia. In that era, every Filipino addressed each other as 'binibini,' 'ginoo,' 'senor,' and 'senora.' During that time, if you liked someone, you would also court their parents. The mode of transportation at that time was the horse, which we called 'kalesa.'  I still want to share more about this topic, but I feel the need to stop. Before I leave, I'd like to share this quote: "History is the bridge that connects our past, present, and future, reminding us that our actions today shape the stories of tomorrow."
