Jimin shuffled into the lecture hall, a yawn escaping his lips as he adjusted his backpack on his shoulder. It was the start of another semester, and he was ready for the grind.
His eyes scanned the room, searching for a familiar face. As he settled into a seat near the back, he noticed a new student sitting a few rows ahead.
Jungkook.
Jimin had heard about him from some friends—an athletic, talented freshman who was making waves on campus. The guy seemed to have it all: good looks, charm, and a killer smile.
Jimin watched as Jungkook chatted happily with the students around him, effortlessly drawing them in with his easygoing manner.
As the weeks passed, Jimin found himself drawn to Jungkook's energy. Despite the difference in their ages, they shared several classes, and Jimin couldn't help but be impressed by Jungkook's dedication and intelligence. They began to interact more, exchanging notes, and occasionally studying together in the library.
One evening, as they were packing up after a late study session, Jimin noticed Jungkook seemed distracted.
"Everything okay, Jungkook?" Jimin asked, trying to keep his tone casual.
Jungkook hesitated, then nodded. "Yeah, just... there's someone I can't stop thinking about, hyung."
Jimin's heart skipped a beat. He had been harboring feelings for Jungkook for a while now, and the thought that Jungkook might reciprocate was thrilling. "Oh? Anyone I know?" he asked, hoping to sound nonchalant.
Jungkook's cheeks flushed slightly. "Actually, yeah. It's your sister."
Jimin felt his stomach drop. "My sister? Iseul?"
Jungkook nodded, looking almost embarrassed. "I know it's kind of awkward to bring up, but... she's amazing. I've been wanting to ask her out, but I wasn't sure if it was okay with you."
Jimin forced a smile, trying to keep his disappointment in check. "Iseul is... yeah, she's great. And I guess it's up to her if she wants to go out with you."
Jungkook's face lit up. "Really? Thanks, Jimin hyung. That means a lot."
As Jungkook left, Jimin sat back down, the weight of his unspoken feelings pressing heavily on his chest. Over the next few weeks, he watched as Jungkook and Iseul grew closer.
He couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy every time he saw them together, laughing and sharing moments that he had once hoped could be his.
Despite the pain, Jimin put on a brave face and supported Jungkook's courting of his sister. He offered advice, scheduled their meetups, and even gave Jungkook tips on Iseul's favorite things.
It hurt him deeply, but he cared too much for both Jungkook and Iseul to let his feelings get in the way of their happiness.
One afternoon, as Jimin and Jungkook were walking across campus, Jungkook turned to him with a serious expression.
"Hyung, I can't thank you enough for all your help. I know this must be weird for you, considering it's your sister," Jungkook said.
Jimin forced a smile, masking the ache in his heart. "It's no problem, Jungkook. I just want you both to be happy."
Jungkook grinned, his face lighting up. "You're a really great friend, Jimin hyung. I don't know what I'd do without you."
As Jungkook walked away to meet Iseul, Jimin took a deep breath, trying to steady himself. He knew he couldn't confess his feelings now; it would only complicate things and potentially hurt the people he cared about most.
