Jimin woke up early the next morning, the lingering scent of Iseul's perfume still faintly present in the room. He pushed aside the uneasy feelings that came with it and prepared for the day. Today was important, he needed to be there for Jungkook more than ever.
As he walked into the kitchen, he found Iseul and Yoongi already there, sipping on their coffee. Iseul looked up briefly, acknowledging him with a nod before returning her attention to her phone.
Jimin hesitated for a moment, then decided against trying to talk to her again. He knew it would be futile. Instead, he grabbed his own coffee and headed out the door, determined to face whatever the day threw at him.
Jimin then arrived at the studio a little earlier than usual, hoping to get some work done before the others arrived. As he was setting up, Taehyung and Jin barged in, their faces a mix of excitement and curiosity.
"Jimin!" Taehyung exclaimed, practically bouncing on his feet. "Is Jungkook dropping you off again today?"
Jimin chuckled, shaking his head. "No, I'm living with my fiancé guys, shut up. Why are you even asking that?"
Jin nudged Taehyung with a smirk. "Because someone here has a little crush on your best friend."
Taehyung rolled his eyes but couldn't hide his grin. "It's not a crush. I just think he's really handsome, besides I'm dating someone."
Jimin laughed, feeling a bit of the morning's tension ease. "Well, you two seem more excited about him than I do."
Jin sobered a bit, his tone becoming more serious. "We've just heard so much about him from you. It's like meeting a celebrity or something. Plus, we know how much he means to you."
Taehyung nodded. "Yeah, and we know you've been through a lot. We just want to make sure you're okay."
Jimin sighed, feeling the weight of their concern. "Thanks, guys. It's just... complicated. Iseul is being difficult, and Jungkook is caught in the middle. I don't want to make things worse for him."
Jin placed a reassuring hand on Jimin's shoulder. "Just take it one day at a time. We're here for you."
Taehyung nodded in agreement. "And if you need us to talk some sense into Iseul, we can do that too."
Jimin smiled, grateful for their support. "I appreciate it, really. Let's just get through today and see what happens."
Meanwhile, Jungkook spent the day running errands and trying to keep his mind off Iseul's silence. He tried to busy himself with work, doing everything he can, but no matter what he did, his thoughts kept drifting back to Iseul and the growing distance between them.
By the time evening rolled around, Jungkook found himself parked outside Jimin's company building, waiting to pick him up. He leaned back in his seat, staring up at the towering structure and wondering how Jimin managed to keep it all together.
As the workday came to an end, Jimin gathered his things and made his way down to the entrance. He spotted Jungkook's car and hurried over, eager to see his best friend. He climbed into the passenger seat and gave Jungkook a tired smile.
"Hey," Jimin greeted, buckling his seatbelt.
"Hey," Jungkook replied, starting the car. "How was your day?"
Jimin shrugged. "Busy, but manageable. How about you?"
Jungkook sighed, glancing at the road ahead. "It was okay. Just... you know."
Jimin nodded, understanding the unspoken words. "We'll get through this, Kookie. I promise."
They drove in comfortable silence for a while, each lost in their own thoughts. As they neared their apartment, Jungkook glanced at Jimin, a hint of worry in his eyes.
"Did you talk to Iseul?" Jungkook asked softly.
Jimin hesitated, then nodded. "I did. She's... she's still processing everything. Give her some time."
Jungkook nodded, though the uncertainty remained in his eyes. "Thanks, hyung. I don't know what I'd do without you."
Jimin reached over and squeezed Jungkook's hand. "You won't have to find out. I'm here for you, no matter what."
As they pulled into the apartment complex, a sense of determination settled over Jimin. He knew the road ahead would be difficult, but he was ready to face it head-on, with Jungkook by his side.
The next morning, as the sun began to rise, Jimin awoke to the sound of retching. He hurried to the bathroom to find Iseul hunched over the toilet, her face pale and clammy.
"Iseul, are you okay?" Jimin asked, concern etched on his features.
Iseul looked up, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand. "I don't know, oppa. I've been feeling lightheaded and nauseous for weeks now."
Jimin's worry deepened. "You should see a doctor, Iseul. This doesn't sound normal."
Iseul nodded weakly. "I'll make an appointment soon."
As Jimin helped her back to the guest bedroom, his mind raced with possibilities. He knew something was wrong, but he also knew he couldn't push her too hard. He needed to be patient and supportive, for Jungkook's sake.
He knew his engagement with Yoongi would end soon. It's either Yoongi would be the one to end it or him. Everything was a mess now and Jimin's already tired of every single thing that's happening. He knew he can't deny these signs anymore. He's a soft hearted person, yes. However, this is beyond his limit. He loves Yoongi and Iseul, but betrayal is something unforgiveable to him.
Meanwhile, in his studio, Yoongi was wrestling with his own thoughts. He had spent the night replaying the events of the past few weeks in his mind, trying to make sense of his feelings.
He had no regrets about leaving Jimin, but the thought of facing him again filled him with dread. He knew he had made his choice, and there was no turning back now. He needed to do something about it. However, he doesn't want to be the one to blame.
