Jimin and Jungkook stood outside Iseul's apartment, the weight of the confrontation heavy in the air. Jungkook held the divorce papers in one hand, his other hand tightly intertwined with Jimin's. He could feel the tension radiating from Jimin, who had insisted on coming along for support – and to confront Iseul about the threats.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Jungkook asked, his voice soft but firm.
Jimin nodded. "She threatened you, Jungkook. She threatened to hurt me. I need to hear what she has to say for herself."
With a deep breath, Jungkook knocked on the door. Moments later, it opened to reveal Iseul, her face a mix of surprise and nervousness when she saw Jimin standing beside him.
"Iseul," Jungkook began, stepping into the apartment with Jimin by his side. "We need to talk."
Iseul's eyes darted between the two men, her heart pounding. "Jungkook, Jimin oppa, what is this about?"
Jimin didn't wait for Jungkook to respond. "You know exactly what this is about, Iseul, don't you dare act innocent here," he snapped. "You threatened Jungkook, saying you would hurt me if he didn’t stay away from me. How could you stoop so low?"
Iseul's face paled. "I... I didn't mean it like that. I was desperate to fix our relationship. I thought I was losing everything. I still love Jungkook–"
Jimin's eyes narrowed as he stepped closer to Iseul. "Desperation is no excuse for what you did. Do you have any idea what you put Jungkook through? The fear, the stress? And all because you couldn't handle the consequences of your own actions."
Iseul's tears began to fall, but Jimin was relentless. "You cheated on him, Iseul. You betrayed his trust, and then you have the audacity to threaten him? Do you even hear yourself? And you're excusing yourself by saying that you just wanted to fix your relationship with Jungkook while you're still in a relationship with my ex fiancé?!"
Jungkook took a deep breath, his voice steady but filled with hate. "Love? You call threatening to hurt the person I care about love? No, Iseul. You destroyed whatever love we had the moment you chose to betray me."
Jimin stepped forward, his voice icy. "You have no right to manipulate Jungkook like this. You made your choices, Iseul. You have to learn how to live your life with the consequences."
Iseul's tears flowed freely as she realized the consequences of her actions. "I'm sorry, Jimin oppa. I never meant to hurt you."
"But you did," Jimin replied, his voice filled with resentment. "You hurt both of us. Stop playing the victim here and take accountability of your actions!" Jimin shouted grabbing the divorce papers from Jungkook's hand and shoving it to Iseul.
She stared at the divorce papers, the finality of it all sinking in. With a trembling hand, she signed her name, each stroke of the pen feeling like a nail in the coffin of their marriage.
Jungkook took the papers and placed them back into his bag. "Thank you. I'll have my lawyer process these as soon as possible."
Jimin’s eyes were filled with a mix of anger and pity as he looked at Iseul. "I hope you find a way to move on from this, Iseul. But you need to stay away from us. Threatening Jungkook was a mistake you won't be forgiven for."
Jungkook turned to leave, but Iseul’s voice stopped him. "Jungkook, please. Can we at least talk about this? Just once more?"
Jungkook looked back at her, his eyes filled with a sadness she hadn’t seen before. "There's nothing left to say, Iseul. Goodbye."
As the door closed behind them, Iseul sank to the floor, her tears falling freely. She felt a wave of hopelessness wash over her. Her plan had not only failed but had also sealed her fate. She had lost Jungkook, and now she was alone.
