Iseul knew she needed to push Jungkook into a corner, making him question his own feelings and loyalty. She waited until late at night, then sent him a series of threatening texts from a burner phone.
"If you don't stay away from Jimin, he'll get hurt. I promise you that."
"Leave Jimin, or I'll make sure he's the one who pays."
"You've been warned. Don't make me destroy everything you care about."
The messages were vague enough to create a sense of paranoia but specific enough to unsettle him. She watched as the read receipts confirmed he had seen each one, smiling to herself.
Jungkook’s hands trembled as he read the messages. His heart pounded in his chest as he looked over at Jimin, who was peacefully asleep beside him. The thought of anyone hurting Jimin sent a wave of dread through him. He couldn’t let that happen. But who could be sending these threats?
The next morning, Jungkook was distracted, his mind consumed by the anonymous threats. Jimin noticed his unease and gently placed a hand on his shoulder. “Kookie, are you okay? You seem really out of it.”
Jungkook forced a smile, not wanting to worry Jimin. “Yeah, I’m fine. Just thinking about work.”
Jimin frowned, not convinced. “Are you sure? You know you can talk to me about anything.”
Jungkook hesitated, the weight of the threats bearing down on him. He wanted to protect Jimin, but he didn’t know how to handle the situation without putting him in more danger. “It’s really nothing, Jimin. Don’t worry about it.”
Jimin’s concern deepened, but he didn’t press further. He could sense that something was wrong, but he trusted Jungkook to tell him when he was ready.
Meanwhile, Iseul knew she had to handle Yoongi more delicately. She needed to be subtle, planting doubt without making him suspicious. She started by being overly affectionate, showering him with attention and reassurance.
"Yoongi, I just want you to know how much I appreciate you. Thank you for staying with me through all of this," she said one evening, snuggling up to him on the couch.
"Babe, is something wrong? You seem... different," Yoongi replied, looking at her with concern.
"It's just... everything with Jimin oppa and Jungkook. It's tearing me apart. I can't stand to see them together, knowing what oppa's done," she said, letting her voice break slightly.
Yoongi frowned. "What do you mean, what Jimin's done?"
Iseul sighed. "I found out he's been trying to come between Jungkook and me for years. He's been manipulating Jungkook, turning him against me."
Yoongi's expression darkened. "That doesn't sound like Jimin. Are you sure?"
"I didn't want to believe it either, but I have proof," Iseul said, pulling out her phone and showing him the fake messages and emails. "I just... I don't know what to do."
Yoongi studied the messages, his brow furrowing. "This is serious, Iseul. Are you sure these are real?"
"I wish they weren't. But I can't ignore the truth anymore," she replied, tears welling up in her eyes.
Yoongi's doubt was evident, but he didn't say anything further. She knew she had planted doubt successfully; now she just had to wait for it to grow.
Over the next few days, Iseul continued to play the victim, making sure everyone around her saw how distraught she was. She staged more incidents where she appeared scared and anxious, claiming that Jimin had threatened her.
She also made sure to be seen with Yoongi as much as possible, reinforcing the idea that she was the innocent party in all of this. Whenever they were out in public, she clung to him, making it clear that he was her support system.
Finally, Iseul decided it was time to confront Jungkook directly. She waited until he goes to their house alone before confronting him, then approached him with a mix of anger and sorrow.
"Jungkook, we need to talk," she said, her voice shaking.
Jungkook looked at her with doubt in his eyes. "What is it, Iseul?"
"I know about you and Jimin. I know what he's been doing to our marriage," she said, pulling out her phone and showing him the fake messages. "Why didn't you tell me?"
Jungkook became confused as he read the messages. "Iseul, what is this? Jimin would never—"
"Don't lie to me! I trusted you, Jungkook. I loved you. But you've been hiding things from me, letting Jimin oppa come between us," she yelled, her emotions fabricated.
Jungkook's expression turned from shock to anger. "Iseul, this is ridiculous. Jimin hyung has always been there for me, unlike you who cheated with Yoongi hyung!"
"You're lying! You always ran to Jimin oppa whenever we had problems. You never gave us a chance to fix things," Iseul accused, tears streaming down her face.
"Maybe because you never tried to fix anything, Iseul. You were always too busy with your own life," Jungkook shot back, his voice rising.
"That's not true! I did everything I could to make this work," Iseul protested.
Jungkook's eyes blazed with fury. "You call cheating on me with Yoongi hyung and getting pregnant 'making it work'? I wanted to fix our relationship, Iseul! I was willing to do whatever it took to make things right between us! I was the one begging you to stay but you chose Yoongi hyung! You threw everything away."
Iseul's face turned pale. She had never seen Jungkook angry before. "I... I didn't choose Y-yoongi. It just happened."
"It just happened?" Jungkook echoed incredulously. "You expect me to believe that? You had an affair, Iseul. You made a choice, and now you're pregnant with his child. And now you have the audacity to threaten me?"
"I wasn't threatening you," she lied, her voice trembling.
"Don't play games with me, Iseul. I know those texts were from you. You think you can scare me into leaving Jimin hyung alone? You think I don't see through your manipulative schemes?" Jungkook spat, his anger boiling over.
Iseul's eyes widened with fear and desperation. "Jungkook, please. I'm sorry. I made a mistake, but we can still fix this."
"Fix this?" Jungkook laughed bitterly. "There's nothing left to fix. You destroyed our marriage, Iseul. You and your lies, your stupid decisions. You don't get to play the victim here."
Tears streamed down Iseul's face as she realized the gravity of her actions. "Jungkook, please. I didn't mean for any of this to happen. I still love you."
Jungkook shook his head, his expression hardening. "It's too late for that, Iseul. The divorce papers will be sent to you soon, I'm done with you. You can hurt me, but you threatening me that you'll hurt Jimin hyung is out of line. You made your choice. Now you have to live with the consequences."
As he walked away, Iseul felt a wave of hopelessness wash over her. Her plan had backfired spectacularly, and now she was left with nothing but the wreckage of her own making. She had lost Jungkook, and there was no turning back.
As Jungkook stormed out the house, his mind racing. The rage inside him was obvious, his heart aching from the betrayal. He couldn’t believe how far Iseul had gone, manipulating him, threatening Jimin. The love he once felt for her was now overshadowed by disgust, resentment and anger.
Iseul watched him leave, her own heart pounding with a mix of fear and regret. She had thought she could control the situation, manipulate everyone to her advantage, but it had all spiraled out of control. She was left standing in the empty house, the silence echoing around her.
