Meanwhile, Yoongi walked through the cold, sterile halls of the jail, his footsteps echoing off the walls. He had wrestled with himself for days before deciding to visit Iseul. Despite everything, a part of him still felt responsible for her. As he approached the visitor's area, his heart pounded with a mix of dread and nervousness. He was led to a small room with a thick glass partition. On the other side, Iseul sat, her eyes hollow and her demeanor even more fragile than he remembered. He had to know the truth about Iseul's intentions. She was looking more disheveled and desperate than ever.
"Iseul," Yoongi began softly, picking up the phone to speak through the glass, "how are you holding up?"
Iseul snatched the phone on her side, her eyes narrowing. "What do you think, Yoongi? I'm in jail. Do you think I'm fucking happy here? How do you think I'm holding up?" Her voice was sharp, filled with bitterness.
Yoongi winced but pressed on. "I just... I wanted to see how you were doing. Maybe talk things through. I know it's been hard."
"Hard?" Iseul scoffed, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "You think it's been hard for you? I'm the one stuck in this hellhole because of your uselessness. You're such a waste of time!"
Yoongi's face fell. "Iseul, I—"
"Save it," she interrupted, her eyes blazing with anger. "You were supposed to help me, support me. You were supposed to be there to give me everything I want! But instead, you were nothing but a burden. I regret ever getting involved with you."
Yoongi swallowed hard, the sting of her words cutting deep. "Iseul, I tried my best to be the best partner for you. I loved you."
"Loved me?" Iseul laughed bitterly. "Your so-called love is what got us here. You were never enough for me. You will never enough for anyone. I needed someone strong, someone who could actually provide for me. Not someone who wasted their time on stupid dreams just like my ex husband."
Yoongi felt a mix of hurt and frustration. "Iseul, I did everything to support you financially and emotionally! I'm just thinking about our future. I thought we love each other."
"Love each other?" Iseul's voice rose, her hands clenching into fists. "You were dead weight. I was always the one making the plans, trying to secure my future. You couldn't even handle that!"
"Iseul, that's not fair," Yoongi protested, his own anger bubbling up. "I did everything I could to support us. But you... you went too far. You lied, cheated, tried to kill people, manipulate everyone and now you're trying to blame me for everything?"
"You never had what it takes, Yoongi. And now look where we are," she spat, her face twisted with rage. "I should have found someone better, someone who could actually give me the life I deserved."
Yoongi's eyes glistened with unshed tears. "Iseul, I never wanted this. I loved you, but you let your greed destroy everything."
Iseul leaned forward, her voice low and venomous. "You were always too weak, Yoongi, maybe weaker than Jungkook. And now, thanks to you, I'm paying the price. I hate you for ruining my life."
He hesitated for a moment before speaking up again. "Iseul, I need to know. Why did you do all this?"
Iseul's eyes narrowed, a bitter smile playing on her lips. "You really want to know, Yoongi? Fine. I did it because I had to. Because you're useless to me. I needed someone who could actually help me get ahead, not drag me down."
Yoongi felt a cold chill run down his spine. "So, everything... it was all just a lie?"
"Of course, it was," Iseul snapped. "You think I actually loved you? You were just a means to an end. I needed someone to help me, to give me a leg up. But you were too pathetic to even do that right."
