Some weeks passed, and life moved forward in its inexorable way. The sun was setting, casting long shadows over the quiet cemetery. The air was cool and still, filled with the scent of earth and blooming flowers. Jimin and Jungkook walked hand in hand along the winding path, their footsteps almost silent on the gravel. The only sounds were the distant chirping of birds and the rustling of leaves in the gentle breeze.
Jungkook glanced at Jimin, his eyes filled with concern. "Are you sure you're okay with this?" he asked softly, squeezing Jimin's hand.
Jimin nodded, though his eyes were already glistening with unshed tears. "I need to do this, Kook. It's the only way I can find some closure."
They continued their walk, eventually reaching a secluded area of the cemetery. There, amidst the neatly arranged tombstones and carefully tended plots, was a single grave that seemed to draw Jimin's gaze like a magnet. The stone was simple, but it stood out to them.
Jimin knelt down beside the grave, his fingers gently tracing the engraved letters. Jungkook stood behind him with teary eyes. Jimin took a deep breath, his voice trembling as he began to speak.
"Hi," he said softly, his voice almost lost in the evening air. "I... I don't even know where to start. I guess I should tell you that I still think about you, every day. Despite everything that happened, despite all the pain and betrayal, I can't forget that you were once an important part of my life."
Tears began to spill down Jimin's cheeks, but he continued, his voice growing stronger with each word. "I wish things had been different. I wish you had made different choices. Maybe then we could have found a way to be a alright again. But you made your decisions, and I made mine. And now... now this is all that's left."
Jungkook knelt beside him, placing a comforting arm around Jimin's shoulders. "It's okay, hyung. Let it all out."
Jimin nodded, taking a deep breath. "I want to forgive you, but it's hard. You hurt me in ways I never thought possible. But despite everything, a part of me still loves you. Because you were important to me, and we have a bond that is something I can't just simply erase."
He paused, wiping his eyes with the back of his hand. "I'm getting married, you know. Jungkook proposed to me, and I said yes. We're going to build a life together, a happy one. I wish you could be in our wedding. I wish you could have been a part of it."
Jungkook's grip tightened around Jimin, offering silent encouragement.
Jimin stared at the grave with a bittersweet smile playing on his lips. "I hope you're doing okay."
They sat there in silence for a few moments, the weight of their emotions heavy in the air. Finally, Jimin stood up, placing a bouquet of white roses at the base of the grave. He looked down one last time, his eyes filled with a mixture of sorrow and resolve.
"Goodbye," he whispered. "I hope you find peace, wherever you are."
As they turned to leave, the setting sun casting a golden glow over the cemetery, the name on the tombstone was revealed.
Park Iseul.
Jungkook and Jimin then walked away, hand in hand. The visit had been painful, but it had also been necessary. It was a step towards healing, towards letting go of the past and embracing the future.
As they left the cemetery behind, the memory of Iseul lingered, it serves as a reminder of the fragility of life and the power of forgiveness. And though Jimin knew he would always carry a piece of that pain with him, he also knew that love and happiness were waiting just around the corner, ready to guide him and Jungkook into a new chapter of their lives.
