The room fell into a comfortable silence, the tension and heartache of the past days starting to dissipate. Jimin and Jungkook sat close on the couch, their hands still intertwined, sharing a quiet moment.

After a while, Jimin broke the silence, his voice gentle. "It's late, Kookie. You should get some rest."

Jungkook shook his head, his grip on Jimin's hand tightening. "I don't want to leave you, hyung. Not tonight."

Jimin looked at him, seeing the sincerity and vulnerability in Jungkook's eyes. He nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "Okay. You can stay."

Jungkook felt a wave of relief wash over him. He leaned back into the couch, pulling Jimin with him so they were both reclining. "Thank you," he whispered, his voice filled with happiness.

Jimin rested his head on Jungkook's shoulder, feeling the warmth of his best friend's body next to him. It was a feeling he had longed for, and now it was finally real. They stayed like that for a while, just enjoying the comfort of each other's presence.

After a few minutes, Jungkook spoke again, his voice barely above a whisper. "Hyung, there's something I've been wanting to ask you."

Jimin lifted his head slightly, looking up at Jungkook. "What is it?"

Jungkook hesitated, his eyes searching Jimin's face. "What was it like for you, watching me with Iseul all those years?"

Jimin's expression softened, his eyes filled with a mix of sadness and love. "It was hard, Jungkook. Harder than I can put into words. Every time she hurt you, it felt like a knife in my own heart. But I loved you too much to say anything. I just wanted you to be happy, even if it meant sacrificing my own feelings."

Jungkook's heart ached hearing Jimin's words. "I wish I had known. I wish I had seen what you were going through."

Jimin shook his head, a small, bittersweet smile on his lips. "It wasn't your fault, Kook. You were in love, and you wanted to believe in that love. I understood that. I never blamed you."

Jungkook reached up, cupping Jimin's face with his hand. "You deserve so much more than what I've given you, hyung. I want to make it up to you. I want to be the person who makes you happy."

Jimin leaned into Jungkook's touch, his eyes closing for a moment. "You already are, Jungkook. Just being here with you, knowing that we have a chance to move forward together, that makes me happier than you can imagine."

Jungkook's thumb brushed gently over Jimin's cheek. "I promise I'll do my best, hyung. I want to be the one who makes you smile, who holds you when you're sad, who loves you the way you deserve to be loved."

Jimin's eyes opened, and he looked at Jungkook with a depth of emotion that took Jungkook's breath away. "And I want to love you, Jungkook. For as long as you'll let me."

Jungkook's heart swelled with emotion. He leaned in, pressing a gentle kiss to Jimin's forehead. "For as long as you'll have me."

They stayed like that for a long time, holding each other close, the world outside fading away. In that moment, it was just the two of them.

As the night wore on, they eventually drifted off to sleep, still holding each other, their hearts finally at peace. The future was uncertain, but they knew that whatever came next, they would face it together, hand in hand.

The next day, Jimin blinked his eyes open, feeling the warmth of the morning sun filtering through the curtains. He shifted slightly, feeling an unfamiliar but comforting weight against him. As his vision cleared, he realized he was on the couch, his arms wrapped around Jungkook, who was still asleep.
