Jungkook's heart raced as he heard Jimin's faint plea for help. Panic surged through him. He could tell something was terribly wrong. Without wasting another second, he grabbed his keys and dashed out of his house, his mind focused solely on getting to Jimin.
Jungkook drove like a man possessed, his heart pounding in his chest. The frantic call from Jimin had sent him into a state of sheer panic. All he could think about was getting to Jimin as fast as possible. Traffic lights were a blur, and the city seemed to move in slow motion as he raced through the streets.
The drive felt agonizingly slow, even though Jungkook pushed the speed limits. His mind was a whirlwind of worry and fear, imagining all the worst-case scenarios. He couldn't lose Jimin, not now, not ever.
When he finally pulled up to Jimin and Yoongi's apartment building, Jungkook barely remembered to turn off the car before he jumped out.
He sprinted up the stairs two at a time, his mind racing with worry. The image of Jimin's pale, unconscious face was burned into his memory, fueling his fear.
He reached their apartment door and found it ajar. Without hesitation, he pushed it open and burst inside, calling out desperately, "Park Jimin! Hyung, where are you?"
The sight that greeted him made his heart drop. The living room was in shambles, glass and pictures strewn everywhere. And there, on the sofa, was Jimin, unconscious and pale.
Jungkook rushed to his side, his hands shaking as he checked for a pulse. Relief flooded him when he felt a faint but steady heartbeat. He gently shook Jimin's shoulder, trying to rouse him. "Jimin, hyung, wake up. Please, wake up."
Jimin stirred slightly, a low groan escaping his lips. His eyelids fluttered, and he slowly regained consciousness. Seeing Jungkook's face, a mixture of relief and concern washed over him.
"Jungkook...," he whispered, his voice hoarse.
"I'm here, hyung," Jungkook said softly, his eyes glistening with unshed tears. "Jimin, hyung, what happened? Are you okay?"
Jimin blinked slowly, trying to focus on Jungkook's face. "Kookie... I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you."
"Don't apologize," Jungkook said urgently, his voice thick with emotion. "I was so worried. You scared the hell out of me. What happened here?"
Jimin sat there, the weight of the betrayal pressing down on him until he could barely breathe. His vision blurred with unshed tears, and he clenched his fists, his nails digging into his palms.
The room felt like it was closing in on him, the broken picture frames and shattered memories amplifying his sense of despair.
"Hyung," Jungkook said softly, sensing Jimin's frustrations. "It's going to be okay. I'm here for you."
That simple statement, filled with so much genuine care and concern, was enough to break the dam. Jimin's shoulders started to shake, and before he knew it, he was sobbing uncontrollably.
The pain of Yoongi's betrayal, the guilt of Iseul's actions, and the fear of hurting Jungkook all came crashing down at once.
Jungkook moved without hesitation, wrapping his arms tightly around Jimin. "Hyung, it's okay. Let it out. I'm here."
The older buried his face in Jungkook's shoulder, his tears soaking through the younger man's shirt. He clung to Jungkook like a lifeline, his sobs wracking his body. "I'm so sorry, Kookie," he choked out. "I'm so sorry for everything. I don't understand how this happened. You... you don't deserve any of this too."
"Shhh, hyung. It's not your fault," Jungkook murmured, his voice soothing. "None of this is your fault hyung, what happened here?
Jimin shook his head weakly, his eyes filled with a sadness that tore at Jungkook's heart. "I... I can't talk about it right now. It's too much."
