Taehyung and Hoseok watched as Jin sat by Namjoon's bed, holding his hand tightly. The room was filled with a heavy silence.
"Jin hyung, how long have you two been together?" Hoseok asked softly.
Jin smiled weakly. "Almost a year now. We kept it quiet because of some family and personal matters but... we were going to announce it soon."
Taehyung nodded, his eyes filled with empathy. "He'll pull through, Jin hyung. Namjoon is strong."
Jin wiped away a tear, nodding at Taehyung.
The door creaked open, and a nurse stepped in. "Excuse me, I need to check his vitals."
Jin nodded, stepping aside but never letting go of Namjoon's hand. The nurse worked quickly, offering a reassuring smile.
"He's stable. We're doing everything we can," she said before leaving the room.
As the door closed, Jin looked at Taehyung and Hoseok, his expression determined. "We need to find out who did this to him. They need to pay."
Hoseok nodded. "We will, Jin hyung. We'll make sure of it."
The next morning, as Jungkook is making his way through the hospital corridors, his mind preoccupied with thoughts of Namjoon and the recent confrontation with Iseul. As he rounded a corner, he nearly collided with Sunjae, who was hurrying in the opposite direction.
"Sunjae!" Jungkook exclaimed, steadying himself. "Sorry about that. I was lost in thought."
Sunjae grinned, a little out of breath. "No worries, Kook! I'm actually on my way to visit my mom. She's been working late shifts again."
Jungkook nodded, remembering Dr. Kang Bora from the past. "How is she holding up?"Sunjae shrugged. "Tired, but she's managing. She always does. Actually, why don't you come with me? She'd be happy to see a familiar face."
Jungkook hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Sure, I could use the distraction."As they walked together, Sunjae chatted about mundane things, trying to lighten the heavy atmosphere that seemed to follow them both. When they reached Dr. Kang's office, Sunjae knocked lightly before pushing the door open.
"Mom, you have a visitor," Sunjae announced, stepping aside to let Jungkook in.Dr. Kang looked up from her desk, a warm smile spreading across her face. "Jungkook! It's been a while. How have you been?"
Jungkook smiled back, though it didn't quite reach his eyes. "I'm hanging in there, Dr. Kang. Just came to check on Namjoon."
Her expression softened with understanding. "I heard about what happened. I'm so sorry, Jungkook. It's a difficult time for everyone."
He nodded, appreciating her sympathy. "Thank you, Dr. Kang. We're all trying to comprehend everything right now..."
Dr. Kang Bora's expression shifted to one of curiosity. "Jungkook, you seem troubled, and I know it's not just about that. Is there something else on your mind?"
Jungkook hesitated, then took a deep breath. "Yes, there is. Iseul, my wife, cheated on me with Yoongi... Jimin hyung's fiancé."
Dr. Kang Bora's eyes widened in shock. "Iseul and Yoongi? That's terrible, Jungkook. I'm so sorry you're going through this."
Sunjae placed a comforting hand on Jungkook's back. "Jungkook, I had no idea. That must be incredibly painful for both of you."
Jungkook nodded, his voice trembling slightly. "It is. Iseul even threatened to hurt Jimin if I didn't stay away from him. I feel so helpless."
Dr. Kang Bora's eyes softened with understanding. "I'm sorry, Jungkook. I didn't realize it was such a serious situation. However, you and Jimin have a strong bond, Jungkook. Don't let Iseul's actions tear that apart. Focus on the people who truly care about you."
"You're right. I won't let her destroy what Jimin hyung and I have. Thank you." Jungkook answered.
Minutes later, as they left Dr. Bora's office, Sunjae turned to Jungkook with a thoughtful expression. "You know, back in college, everyone in our class was rooting for you and Jiminie."
Jungkook smiled faintly, memories flooding back. "Yeah, I remember. Jimin hyung has always been there for me, no matter what."
Sunjae nodded. "And he still is. You've been through a lot, but you have each other. That's something I always admired about you two."
Jungkook felt a sense of warmth amidst the pain. "Thanks, Sunjae. That means a lot."
As Jungkook and Sunjae walked through the hospital corridor, they shared a brief, reassuring look before parting ways.
"I'll see you later, Jungkook," Sunjae said, giving him a supportive nod.
"Thanks, Sunjae. Take care," Jungkook replied, offering a small smile before heading towards Namjoon's room.
As Jungkook walked through the hospital corridor, he felt anxiety creeping into his mind. He needed to see Namjoon, to apologize.
Entering Namjoon's room, he saw the unconscious form of Hoseok's cousin and Iseul's former boss, lying still on the bed. Jungkook approached quietly, taking Namjoon's hand in his own.
"Namjoon hyung," he whispered, his voice trembling. "I'm so sorry. I should have approached you before. I should have protected you."
Tears began to fall as he held Namjoon's hand tightly. "Please wake up," Jungkook pleaded. "We need you. I need you."
Suddenly, he felt a faint squeeze on his hand. He looked up, his breath catching in his throat. Namjoon's eyes fluttered open, blinking against the harsh hospital lights.
"Namjoon hyung?" Jungkook gasped, his heart leaping with hope.
Namjoon groaned softly, his voice weak but audible. "Jungkook?"
Jungkook's eyes widened in relief and joy. "You're awake! Thank God, you're awake!" He reached for the call button to alert the medical staff but stopped when Namjoon weakly grabbed his wrist.
"Wait," Namjoon said, his voice strained. "There's something I need to tell you."
Jungkook leaned in closer, concern etched across his face. "What is it, hyung?"
Namjoon's eyes were filled with a mixture of fear and confusion. "Iseul... she threatened me. She told me... she said I forced her to have sex before. But... I can't remember doing anything like that. I don't know what's real anymore."
Jungkook's heart sank. The tone of Namjoon's words were chilling. "She threatened you? Why didn't you tell anyone?"
"I... I wasn't sure. I didn't want to believe it," Namjoon admitted, his voice trembling. "But she was so convincing. I started doubting myself."
Jungkook's anger flared, a protective instinct surging within him. "She's manipulating you, Namjoon hyung. Just like she's been trying to manipulate me and Jimin hyung. We can't let her get away with this."
Namjoon nodded weakly, his eyes closing again from the effort of speaking. "Be careful, Jungkook. She's dangerous."
Jungkook squeezed Namjoon's hand reassuringly. "Don't worry, hyung. We'll figure this out together. I'm going to call the doctor now, okay?"
Namjoon managed a faint nod, and Jungkook quickly pressed the call button. Within moments, medical staff rushed into the room, their expressions a mix of relief and urgency as they began to assess Namjoon's condition.
As the doctors and nurses worked, Jungkook stepped back, his mind racing. Iseul's threats and manipulations had gone too far. He knew he needed to protect not only Jimin but also Namjoon from her schemes. And with Namjoon awake, they finally had a chance to uncover the truth and put an end to Iseul's charades once and for all.
